Engineered for optimal sound reproduction with proven reliability continuing a 30-year legacy, Peavey SP enclosures feature patented asymmetrical Quadratic Throat Waveguide(TM) technology that helps deliver pristine, precise sound; Black Widow(R) loudspeakers with Kevlar(R)-impregnated cones, 4" ribbon-wire voice coils and exclusive field-replaceable baskets; the patented Radialinear(TM) Planar Phase Correction System; and titanium compression drivers with ferrofluid cooling.
The SP 218 subwoofer is designed for large systems and works perfectly with the Peavey SP line of enclosures. The SP 218 uses two custom designed large excursion 18 in. Pro Rider Black Widow woofers that can produce incredible deep bass with very low distortion handling up to 4800 Watts of peak power. If your looking for amazing lows and thunderous bottom end to accompany your SP enclosures, this dual 18 inch 4 Ohm cabinet will deliver the goods sonically. The solid cabinetry construction of birch ply is carpet-covered and has an extra heavy-duty grille for ruggedness.

I'm a sound engineer and I do a lot of gigs from CD release events to medium size concerts. Over the past few years, I have been building my system, however, I was dissatified with the lows from my old subs. They did not have enough bottom that I could feel, if you know what I mean.
Well, after I bought a pair of these Peavey SP 218, my bass is pure, clean and powerful. I had did a Gospel Concert over the weekend and the musicians were thoughly impressed with the clean bass sound that these speakers put out. Needless to say, the audience really enjoyed the concert.
So, if you are on a tight budget and cannot afford the JBL's, EV or some of the more elite brands, then you should seriously give these subs a try. You will not be dissappointed.

I OWN FOUR OF THESE BAD BOYS, HAD A GIG AT THE PARK AND THE HIGHWAY WAS 1/2 A MILE AWAY. WE HAD PEPOLE COMMING OVER AND JOYING US SAYING THEY THOUGHT A LIVE TEJANO BAD WAS PLAYING, AND TO THEM IT SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS JUST A FEW BLOCKS AWAY. BUT IT HAD TO BE TURNED DOWN DO TO THE NON TEJANO FOLKS FOR THE COPS WERE CALLED ON THE PARTY. YEP U GUESSED IT... TICKET TIME YEP NO LIE SO BE CAREFULL WITH THESE BAD BOYS THEY DO THUMP.GREAT SPEAKERS FOR THE BUCKS....

Sound Reinforcement at its finest...
The momment you turn-on the PEAVEY SP218 DUAL 18" BASS, they will turn-you-on by filling large venues and your gutt with massive low-ends. I guarantee...even through the most demanding nights of driving the amps and long hrs of continuous play, there will be no signs of "speaker fatigue."
