If your laptop is slightly tall, it will rub against the top of the drawer. This, in turn, will scratch the top of your laptop. Also, there were no rear rack rails on the drawer which compromised its stability. I added my own after some modifications.

Q:
what are the length and width specifications of the drawer? My laptop measures 16 1/2 inches wide and 11 inches deep. With the screen in a comfortably opened position the computer measures 13 1/2 inches deep. Can the laptop be opened while in the drawer?

  The top cover cannot be removed. I imagine with some tools, perhaps, but it isn't made to snap off.
  
  The wrist pad CAN be removed, however the surface underneath is a bit rough.

Will a Dell e6520 LapTop fit easily into the unit. How many side and rear slots for powercord, usb connections,ethernet connections? How is machine locked? How do you mount permanently on a exam room desk and or door?

  Also there is no rear slots for connections.
