Very simple yet practical unit that allows DJ's to work with the digital era without laptops and expensive software. The most inexpensive way to incorporate MP3s and have full manual mixing control. DJing is boring without being able to beatmatch and mix songs manually. This unit is perfect for me, I use it as a supplement media player in my rack without two CD turntable decks (Denon) with a denon mixer. I now have 4 players for my gigs. I dont have to carry around the entire CD rack. The SD cards can carry all my songs for the media player and I can mix "MANUALLY"!

Overall this unit is not bad for the price. I haven't had it for long, so I can not comment on how reliable it is. I will say this, the unit works well. You can beat mix with it & do loops. The one thing that I truly dislike is the poor sound quality. I am trying to see if I can over come this problem. For now, I will use it as a sampler for my DJ drops & for low paying gigs. Should you go out and buy one ? My answer is I would wait for a upgraded unit with much improved sound quality & or better sounding SD cards.

I love my SD card player. It provides CD quality sound and the Q start makes mixing a snap. My only complaint is that you must have two cards in the player to start up music.

This a great unit for wedding ceremony. No need to burn a cd for one time uses. Make a great backup if your computer would lock.
We have four of these units and planning to purchase two more.

Comments about American DJ American Audio Professional Dual SD Player - MINT:
If you're a press play and go DJ, this machine is great, but one area where the SDJ1 is lacking is the tempo lock function. It really diminishes the sound quality. If you intend to use tempo lock in front of a crowd, you probably shouldn't use this machine. It's great for cutting in samples and suits a backup position well. For the price this machine has done well for me.

BOUGHT THIS UNIT NEW, USED IT 3 TIMES AND NOW ONLY 1 OF THE SD CARD SLOTS READS CARDS. UP UNTIL THAT POINT I THOUGHT IT WAS "THE CAT'S MEOW" BUT HOW GOOD IS A UNIT THAT LOSES 50% OF IT'S CAPABILITY. AMERICAN DJ/AUDIO BETTER MAKE GOOD ON IT'S REPLACEMENT-REPAIR. THANK GOD I BOUGHT AN EXTRA 2 YEARS OF WARRANTY.

This is my very first time out of 26 years of Dee Jaying I have used a media player for mixing at parties; and I am HOOKED! Very easy to use. Excellent portability. Compatiable with other equipment of it's brand. Love the music capacity it can hold for a good party. And most of all, no interuptions by music skipping or long start up times after a power outage. Thank you PSSL.

This is a great unit, works no different from a cd player, you just use 2 sd cards up to 16gb. My only advice is if you use allot of music, put it in subfolders of the max of 999 mp3 files. Other than that, Awsome!

Comments about American DJ American Audio Professional Dual SD Player - MINT:
I have the SDJ-1 as my 3rd back up unit and its always on stand-by mode, I use it quite often on gigs, it is no different than having Cd's or a playlist. When I used to play CD's, it was all memorization, you knew exactly what CD to look for, the SDJ-1 is no different. Think of it as a big compilation of hits on 2 SD cards. Like in a computer or any other Dj software, folders can be made by Artist, year, genre ect. I love it.

Comments about American DJ American Audio Professional Dual SD Player - MINT:
I have used CD forever and was reluactant to go to laptop or have to carry around a hard drive. Also, those things are usually not meant for the professional use that I give my gear. With this I put all my music (that I play every weekend) on a few SD Cards (4 gig) and I am ready to go. Super quick and I can leave all my expensive gear at home.
