The American DJ Fog Storm 1700HD is a serious fogger for professional applications where you need a whole lotta fog. Awesome upgrades include a sensor that will shut the unit off, should the fluid tank run dry. This protects the pump and the heater from burning out. There's also a timer remote that can be used as a DMX converter, enabling DMX control. Stronger components have also been added for industrial applications.

This is a big monster and it throws fog like you would expect. I use it outdoors with the Galaxian Liquid Sky and everyone is awed by it. Yeah, it's heavy if you're a girly man but it's the Hemi-Cuda of fog machines for a price that's not out of reach.

Not sure about the previous 2 reviews?! My experience has been great, but I've had foggers in the past and understand that they do require simple cleaning and care too. This unit REALLY puts out the fog!! Be careful using in confined spaces or venues with the latest fire alarm technology. Yes my "help" has gotten button happy and caused a problem or two, so start off slow fogging a room. With ANY fog machine, I never leave fluid in the unit for extended periods of time. I always purge the unit with a 50/50 mixture of distilled water and alcohol. (it's cheaper than cleaning solution) It is heavy, but it's part of what comes with a big machine. Simply put, if you need to fog a big area, or your machine has a hard time "keeping" up with the dispersion rate, this will solve your problems!

Have used the 1200HD in the past would get a couple of months at least out of it before heater would stop. This unit only lasted one week total when it stopped heating. We use this in a special effect volcano which is triggered by patrons in a miniature golf course. These units have a thermostatic fuse to protect it from overheating which does not reset. When it blows it's done. I suspect this is what happened to this unit. The way they explain this unit it is supposed to be extra heavy duty. Does not seem to be the case. The only plus is that when it did work it put out plenty of smoke.

Did not meet expectations. Box and marketing materials seemed to imply unit would not need reheat time between fogging, but this was not the case. Unit would fog for 20-30 seconds, and then seemed to need to reheat for a minute or two before fogging again.
