I've had this for about ten years now and it still works great. We have used it nearly every weekend in our home studio. I have also used it at the 800 seat auditorium at San Bernardino Valley College and it worked great when projected alone onto their highly reflective white cyc. It's not powerful enough to cut through a fog machine but in a dark room on a white wall it works great. The changing patterns work great in the sound activated mode. If the volume isn't loud enough to make it work then you are not rocking.

This thing ROCKS!! For the price, it does a decent job, just doesn't cover much floor space unless you have it 20 feet up in the air. lol. Good laser show with the fogger. Beam a bit small, but what do you expect from a [$] laser. All in all a good buy for any novice person.

Great features for such a cheap laser. A really good light for mobile DJs on a tight budget. take one of these lasers and an Eliminator EF400 fog machine and you're good for under $100.

This is a fun toy to play with. The sound active mode is the coolest to see, but requires a very close placement to speakers, or an inordinate amount of bass. The custom patterns are fun to play with, but cannot be saved. The power supply is awkward to hook up, but the unit can run off of AA batteries. The laser is visible in dim to dark light, but is hard to see in normal light, unless close to projection surface.
Bottom line: fun toy, not practical for working technicians.
