The CDJ-200 combines the key elements of Pioneer’s professional digital CD decks with a host of innovative features including: full-function MP3 playback, Hot Loop, Beat Loop and the unique one button Loop Cutter.

Since the CDJ-200 is MP3 compatible, aspiring DJs can now include the very latest downloaded tracks in their sets, without having to convert the audio from other formats. The MP3 functionality also allows DJs to locate tracks more quickly (via Folder Search) and to see the name of the disc, artist and song on the unit’s bright dot-matrix display window. This screen also has a bar graph showing the elapsed and remaining playing time of a track, plus an Auto BPM Counter, giving DJs the real-time information they need to create better mixes more quickly. The unit has a tempo read-out as well as a separate Master Tempo button with three settings for locking the pitch of a track as it’s sped up or slowed down.

An established highlight of Pioneer’s Pro DJ CDJ players, the jog wheel can be used to speed up or slow down the music; to fine-tune cue points manually; or to control the mix with the help of another proven feature, the digital jog break. This has three effect buttons (Jet, Zip, Wah) for creating original sounds as the DJ manipulates the jog wheel. When the digital jog break is on, the blue ring around the jog-wheel flashes quickly to give the DJ visual feedback as to the effect status. With the effects off, the jog ring lights a solid blue.

The player also offers a professional level of pitch accuracy with 0.02% step resolution at the 6% range. The DJ can switch between 6, 10 and 16% ranges for various control depths. The CDJ-200 also has a unique Resume function that takes effect if a CD is ejected accidentally. Once the DJ re-inserts the disc, it automatically starts playing from exactly the point where it stopped.

This rather unassuming 2-channel mixer packs incredible specs – the mixer is fully digital, offering 24bit / 96kHz A/D and D/A conversion with a 97dB signal-to-noise ratio for an incredibly clean sound. Each channel has a 3-band EQ with full cut capability; +9dB to -8 (infinity) for total control of the sound.

The onboard effects unit automatically detects the BPM of the music and synchronizes the effects to the beat. There are 8 onboard effects: Delay, Echo, Filter, Franger, Phaser, Robot, Roll and In-Loop Sampler, all of which are processed at 32bits for the highest quality sound. Furthermore, by using the newly-adopted “Beat Select Button”, it allows more intuitive and aggressive DJ playing and remixing. The intelligent In-Loop sampler automatically detects the tempo of a song during playback, sampling it for a length of 4 beats then looping the sample. Since the sampled sound is in sync with the beat of the tune being played, no matter the tempo, it enables live remixing like never before. Your samples are automatically stretched and compressed to match the beat.

One feature mobile DJs will enjoy is the dual microphone inputs, each with independent level controls, with a talk-over function which automatically lowers track volume. The two _” (TRS) inputs can also be switched to be used as an additional line-level input.
