We created XONE:02 to be the world's greatest battle/scratch mixer. Every fader is a deluxe VCA design, they are all reversible, all have contour controls, and they can all be easily replaced by removing the steel faceplate. The fader area has been cleared for action and other controls are out of the way at the top of the mixer, and even the transform switches can be rotated to work the way you like them. The mixer is not the same as all the other standard scratch mixers around - it's taken years of experience to achieve this level of sound quality. This mixer's designed for any amount of rough handling a scratch DJ can throw at it.

VCA Crossfaders
The XONE:02 mixers are equipped with professional quality dual rail gold contact crossfaders. The crossfader is used as a DC controller for the VCA (voltage control amplifier) rather than as an audio attenuator. This means that the audio signal is not affected by any wear or degradation to the crossfader as the fader is only providing the low voltage DC control signal to the VCA, through which the audio signal is being passed.

Construction
35 years of designing live sound mixers has taught us how to make a product that can survive the rigours of life on the road. The XONE:02 mixers are internally modular, all the channel PCBs are vertically mounted at a right angle to the control surface, and with the controls bolted directly to the front panel. In this way, any impact is absorbed through the steel chassis and any liquid that does find its way into the mixer will run off the PCBs.

Power supplies
The XONE:02 employs an internal, auto-sensing switch mode power supply, providing quiet, high voltage DC output rails with ample current reserve. This ensures sufficient headroom is available throughout the signal path to prevent clipping - even with very high signal levels. The auto-sensing power supply is great for any world touring DJ; it automatically adjusts to any mains voltage from 90 volts to over 250 volts at either 50 or 60Hz.

Voltage Control Filters
The heart of the XONE:02 is the powerful and easy to use voltage control filter system. Based on the "state variable filter" circuit similar to that found in many classic analogue synths, but using modern high performance and stable technology, these stereo filters provide live performance tools far more powerful than any equaliser or kill switch.

Operating over the entire audio spectrum of 20Hz to 20kHz the system outputs three frequency correlated filter types; high-pass, band-pass and low-pass. A resonance control, which adjusts the amount of feedback within the filter circuit, contours the response of the filter at its cut-off frequency, changing the filtered sound from subtle to extreme. All of the filter controls are “soft switched” so that they can be punched in and out live without causing voltage transient clicks, and different filters can be selected together to create further types such as notch and all-pass.
