So we were pleased to see that one lighting manufacturer, Elation Professional, is addressing this issue by offering an impressive assortment of its products in all-white cases -- everything from par cans and ellipsoidals, to LEDS and moving heads. And, mind you, these are standard lights that Elation has in stock, not something you have to special order, as was typically the case if you wanted a white fixture in the past. In other words, you can get some pretty specialized white lights in a hurry from Elation. Take their new Opti Profile WH Professional Ellipsoidal. This is a very versatile 575-watt stage light that comes in two all-white models, with either a 19° or 26° lens. From there, you can add on a whole slew of optional accessories to meet your specific requirements, including Projection Tubes with 5°, 10°, 36° or 50° beam angles, a Gobo Holder and an Iris Module. The Opti Profile WH is ideal for churches, concerts or productions with a surrounding white or light backdrop, because it can be adapted to virtually any staging specifications while blending discreetly with your color scheme. Elation’s 250-watt hybrid wash/spot moving head, the Design Spot 250, is also now available in white (model Design Spot 250WH). This innovative fixture has been very popular among installers, productions and rental companies because of its compact size and ability to convert from a soft-edge wash to a hard-edge spot by applying its Variable Frost feature. It’s also got a full-functioning Iris and must-have effects like Gobo Morphing, Color Scrolling, a rotating prism and strobing. With its new white-case version, the Design Spot 250WH should find an even broader market in clubs, discos, concerts and stage shows, who will now go for its cool-looking design as much as they do its cool effects.

Looking for LEDs to light up an architectural space? Elation offers two cutting-edge LED systems with sleek white cases – the Octopod 80 (larger units) and Octopod 36 (smaller units). Each system consists of 8 fixtures and a proprietary controller. Both systems feature RGB color mixing, which allows you to create literally thousands of colors at the touch of a switch. In addition to places like clubs, restaurants and building lobbies, the low heat production of LEDs makes the Octopod 80 and Octopod 36 great for retail displays, museums and galleries, since they can be used at close-range without discoloring objects. They’re also a good choice for concerts and stage shows, where they will keep performers much cooler than conventional lights. The Opti-Par W ETL is a low-profile model that’s excellent for architectural settings because of its attractive modern case design. It can be used with a variety of interchangeable lenses (from very narrow to wide) to alter the beam field and angle. It’s also ETL and CE approved and low on power consumption, so you can run a lot of units without breaking the bank.The Par 64W UL is a more basic professional aluminum par can that’s lightweight yet sturdy and UL approved. It’s equally well-suited to touring and permanent installations.
