As technology progresses, DJs embrace new formats while continuing to utilize the existing, and much loved, vinyl. However, the sound of digital media is often very different from the traditional analog, making the transition between formats very noticeable. The new CDX-05 features a unique Vinyl Filter Mode which cleverly adjusts filter settings giving digital sound the warmth of true vinyl. Mixing between CD, MP3 and records is now even easier.

The CDX-05 also provides a TT-LINK port for Tascam's TT-M1 enabling the DJ to control the speed and direction of the CD in the CDX-05 by means of a turntable. Now, more advanced scratch tricks can be performed on CDs that were previously only possible on vinyl. Best of all, it is easy to use; there is no learning curve for experienced DJ's.

The CDX-05 is compatible with CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3 CDs. DJ's prefer different types of media. It's nice to know that the CDX-05 can play them all.

DJ Tools

Mixing together different types of music is a breeze with the CDX-05's 100mm Pitch Control Fader. The speed/pitch of a CD can be increased or decreased by 6, 10, 50, or 100%. Slow the CD down 100% to stop it.

The CDX-05 also has a Master Tempo control for changing the tempo without affecting the pitch of a song. This allows tempo matching of 2 sources without ending up in Chipmunk or Barry White land! Other features that help DJ's get their mixes going include the Auto BPM Counter with Tap Tempo and Beat Sync.

4 Cue Points are provided for programming different starting points throughout a CD which is perfect for jumping around in the middle of a set. The CDX-05's Track Memory/Recall feature can be used to save all cue points, loop points, Pitch ranges, and effects parameters for future performances. This is great for DJ's who have a routine or a rehearsed set and also reduces set-up time.
