Comments about B52 ACTPRO-18S Single 18In Powered Subwoofer *:
I've been DJing for a long time. I've seen and heard terrific speakers; Mackie, JBL, Peavey, Yamaha, and Cerwin Vega. These are all very good speakers, but for me, B-52 is the real deal. For the last 5-6 years my main rig was the Matrix 2000. Great plug and play setup. Very dependable. I recently purchased two ACTPRO18S subs and stacked them with a pair of ACTPRO1515's. The 18's are everything you could ask for in a powered sub, and then some. You can feel the lows in your feet. Dishes rattled when I hooked them up at home. They sound great and can run all night. I'm not talking 5 or 6 hours, I'm talking all night long. They have HP outputs and a 0-180 degree Phase switch. I prefer the 0 degree for positive polarity, but some DJ's like reversed polarity in their subs. The 1515 mains are 2-way full range and can rock most venues. No problems so far with thermal overheating. The heat sinks are pretty good size. The speakers have a low cut switch, LED indicators, and a ground lift switch. The fronts have a blue LED for flair, but I'm more into clear, crisp sound reproduction and a rugged build. B-52 delivers both. These speakers are solid. No plastic molds here. They are not light weight toys. Bring a friend to help load these monsters.

Comments about B52 ACTPRO-18S Single 18In Powered Subwoofer *:
I just got one of these last month and I'm about to get another one of these. Looking forward to be able to use the High pass filter for this series because I already have two ACTPRO 1515's. All around they aren't too heavy and they kick pretty well. I originaly had a B52 Matrix 2000 which I still have but that setup is what made me stick with B52 on this. You can't get better sign for the price, and made in the good old US of A.

Q:
will this sub work with EV powered sub 18inch live seriesAsked on 1/30/2012 by franny from san marcos,tx1 answer
A:
Yes, just use the line out of your EV and an XLR cable and plug it into the B52. Since they have their own amps you don't have to worry about messing anything up.Answered on 2/1/2012 by Donavon from Cypress
Q:
What is HP OUTPUT, how is this used. I use 2 ACTPRO-18, along with ACTPRO-15'S. Should I have the 15's with the bypass on or off?Asked on 4/25/2011 by Paul from El Paso, Texas1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
HP output stands for high pass output. This lets the high frequencies pass and not the low ones. So If you have your ACTPRo-18's plugged into th HP output it will only supply them with the higher frequencies. As for the bypass you would have to experament and see what sounds better.Answered on 4/27/2011 by Jesse from Cypress,CA
Q:
Can it be used with the matrix 2000 system, cause i fried my crossover in the base cab on friday and i want to get this if it works with the speakers I already have?

You can use this by plugging this sub into your main momo
output on your mixer.Answered on 3/9/2010 by Stephen from PSSL from Cypress, CAA:
Haven't tried it that way we have both the v1 and v2 and our v2 overheats alot and shuts down due to bad cooling...I run my b-52 sub with a set of samson db500a's for more bottom end at local clubs and school dances. they work well together and I run them off the full range out put. The matrix uses nutric out to satilight and this sub doesn't use that it uses xlr out.Answered on 6/11/2010 by djrodney from Coldwater, MIVERIFIED BUYER
A:
Well if the crossover is fried on the cabinet my guess is no you can't. But it also depends if your mains for the b52 matrix 2000 still work properly with the orignal subs powering them. Then in theory you should be able to run the ActPRO sub with the mains but you still have to use the other old sub because that is what powers the mains in the b52 2000 matrix, which would be quite a hassle but would work.Answered on 4/4/2011 by Sub-Liminal from Sacramento
Q:
Can it be integrated with the matrix 2000 system I blew the crossover on Friday to just the sub and need to know if i can still hook up the satelites to it? need to know ASAP I have three shows this coming week????
DJ ERIC BAsked on 3/6/2010 by Anonymous1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
It can be used in conjuction with the Matrix 2000 however the built-in amplifier of the Actpro-18s is designed to only have enough power for the unit itself therefore any integration with other speakers would require seperate and adequate amplification.Answered on 3/8/2010 by ANDREW N from CYPRESS CA
Q:
Can you power a passive 18s sub with this amp?Asked on 3/5/2010 by Anonymous1 answer

The amplifier built inside this subwoofer is designed only to power the subwoofer itself and no other subwoofer (or speaker).Answered on 3/5/2010 by ANDREW N from CYPRESS, CA
