The B-52 LX-1818 V2 takes the traditional folded horn design to the next level. It is built to withstand the abuse of the road and is backed by a lifetime cabinet construction warranty. Two internal compression chambers provide intense, clean and controlled bass. At the heart of the LX-1818 V2 are two new B-52 18-200X subwoofers with a cast-aluminum frames, massive 200 oz magnets, double spider anti-rocking surround and innovative 4? dual-layered, tempered voice coils.
The new B-52 18-200X 18? subwoofer features acast-aluminum frame, 200 oz magnet structure, doublespider anti-rocking surround, a bumped back plate forgreater excursion and 4? dual-layered temperedvoice coil. The voice coil is wound with 4 layers of25-gauge copper wire, optimally sized for this motor.
The B-52 18? subwoofer's acoustic load is controlled by a specially designed horn and compression chamber that minimizes the excursion of the driver while maximizing the system's output. The optimally-sized acoustic aperture of the compression chamber forms the throat of the horn and helps to force air through the horn at an increased velocity and pressure. The compression chamber optimizes the horn's output and the acoustic impedance seen by the B-52 18-200L transducer. It is this acoustic impedance transforming ?phase-plug? design that enables the LX-Series subwoofers to achieve amazing and unprecedented output levels.

Comments about B52 LX-1818V2 Dual 18-Inch Folded Horn Sub *:
This subwoofer is a monster! Weighing over 200 pounds it puts out a lot of sound. It filled a 2000 square foot venue, no problems. my only gripe with it is that I feel its lower end frequency response is lacking. The bass can seem a little bit "thin" at times. I also have a cerwin vega ab36c single 18" folded horn and that can reach down lower that the B52. none the less, the B52 definitely performs! Just make sure you think about how you're going to transport and store this bad boy...it takes up the better part of a pick-up truck bed. In fact, I had to lay it sideways and put my bed on top of it for a few months due to limited room space!!!
