The B-52 LX-18A V2 is powered by our 1200-watt digital amplifier. The 6 lbs amplifier draws less than 12 amps of electricity (at full volume) and has the ability to power the LX-18 V2. The LX-18A V2 includes all the features needed in an active subwoofer: 24 dB/octave electronic crossover, a compressor/ limiter, subsonic filter, phase switch and both full-range and high-pass outputs.

The B-52 LX-18A V2 is designed to power an additional passive sub. The passive subwoofer (LX-18 V2) has the same physical dimensions as the LX-18A V2. Connecting the active subwoofer to an additional passive subwoofer increases the amplifier's available power output from 800 to 1200 watts.

I rented these last year in prom season for a number of very large dances... 1000+ and 2000+ students. The subs were sitting on the floor with a pair of 15's with 400w on top of that and a pair of 300w 12's on top of those. A set up that was risky sounding could have beed really bad... The sound was remarkable! The only cross over was the one in the subs. The students were impressed and the sound was good from deep down. I was in a giant hall and you could get the bass line in the street! It nailed down the gigs and two others besides for this year.
