I beg to differ, with jim the runner...cause this thing rocks..i've used the pioneer djm 800,and this mixer is neck & neck with the pioneer.maybe
the problem is'nt the mixer but the guy behind it that sucks at his craft..in fact this mixer has even more features than the pioneer, and the numark 5000fx...to put it quite simply this mixer is a beast..and unlike jim the runner i've been a pro.dj for over 30 yrs..so sit back jim and read the instructions, you might learn something..and i've only had this piece for a week
and already know it inside out..kudos Behringer on another Bangin product...oh and jim, next time use your real name..

Most of the people giving 5's on this are bedroom DJs or DJs claiming to be professional, but until you've put this in a club/party environment and tested it to it's fullest AND you have also played Pioneer 800 or Allen & Heath or others, then you know the true worth. I will say that you get what you pay for. Horrible placement of headphone jack, all effects take 2 or 3 steps to get them up to use which is not user friendly, nobs started bending(poor component strength) and one broke within a month or two of use, and the actual quality of sound or signal that travels through is not even close to comparable to the Pioneer or A&H, probably due to wiring used which is why the Behringer costs less. Definately a good beginner mixer, and for the price, not a bad buy... but if you are wanting something you can use for years and live in the States, go with the standard, Pioneer. I sold mine for 50% of value 4 months after buying it to put towards a 3rd Pioneer mixer cuz I'm used to doing 2 to 3 rooms per party... thought I'd save by having the beginners in side rooms use Behringer... so it was a good test, and boy did they complain cuz most had no idea how to even look for effects, use fader buttons, etc.

Comments about Behringer DDM-4000 5 Channel DJ Mixer:
I have had this mixer for almost two years and love it. I decided to write this review because I noticed the price went up, when I bought it March 2009 it was only [$]. I use this mixer all the time at the club, house parties, making my demo tapes and for friend's weddings. For the price it is a great 4 channel mixer. The only downside is that the crossfade has broken and you have to replace it with a Behringer only crossfade that is special order, you can't drop in any crossfade. [...]

Comments about Behringer DDM-4000 5 Channel DJ Mixer:
This is 1 awesome mixer and just when i thought i had the best of the best it got better. MiDi mapable, through DJ Konix over at serato scratch live forums he put a instructional video on how to use this mixer as a Rane TT57 by using this $40 usb to midi in/out piece. Now i can scan through my SSL without touching the keyboard, that and the Denon HC 1000 make mixing a pleasure.

Comments about Behringer DDM-4000 5 Channel DJ Mixer:
This Mixer is simply awesome! Everything is great about this mixer. The downside to this mixer is if you are an avid scratcher, the crossfader cut in/out (curve) are long even under the lowest setting. If you used its predecessor (Silver model) you know the curve there was precise.
Get it now...Save your money on those high end mixer...this is where its at!!!

I have used many mixers and there always something lacking or something i did not like about them. This mixer has everything you need!!! and the closest to this mixer as comparison will be the DJM800 and ofcourse this mixer is not a djm800 but is very close to it! Behringer has made it with this product..hopefully in the future..it will continue this line of mixer and maybe add nicer smoother features to it. Great product!!!!!!!!!!

Comments about Behringer DDM-4000 5 Channel DJ Mixer:
This is a great mixer for the Price. I was Skeptical at first for being a Behringer product. I will say the following: Read the manual and see youtube videos before you use it at a live event. It take a while to get use to. Also be sure to set the maximer to boost if you plan to use mics. If you don't tweak it right, you will get lots of feedback. Once you figure the right configuration, your mic will sound awesome. Effects are great and user friendly. But again, read the manual. I will say that this mixer rival most expensive mixers. Most of the expensive mixer such as pioneer and rane, you are paying for name. For the DDM4000, you are paying for features and good sound that again, rival more expensive mixers.

Comments about Behringer DDM-4000 5 Channel DJ Mixer:
Anyone rating this mixer lower than a FOUR obviously doesn't know how to use THIS mixer! One of the reviews mentioned that anyone who rated this mixer a FIVE must be a bedroom DJ! WRONG! I've done numberous parties big and small and this mixer PRODUCED! In conjunction with my BEHRINGER PA SPEAKERS AND DENON DIGITAL MEDIA PLAYERS the sound is amazing. I highly recommend this mixer. If you're a beginner don't be intimidated by all the buttons. Once you learn how to use it, this mixer's versatility will enhance your playing skills! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

Comments about Behringer DDM-4000 5 Channel DJ Mixer:
I ordered Behringer DDM4000 here in PSSL.com with International Checkout. I got the item and then when I turned the thing on, I get some noise. I isolated the problem to be from High and Mid Equalizer in Channel 1 of the mixer. It also seemed that Behringer did not have International warranty, so the dealers here in the Philippines dont want to change it or repair it.
Aside from that noise coming from ch.1, I dont have any problems with it and was happy with it. As a workaround, I configured the channel 1 to be midi controller instead to cut the noise. I can still mix using the three channels. Sound quality depends on your input sound card.

I search the web to see if there was anything wrong with this mixer. I could not find anything. I went to my local Dj store and demo the mixer.
The mixer has many features, loop, EFX, 4Ch, 2 mics, Midi, Crossover etc......
I use the mixer for all of my dj event never had a problem.
I use Traktor Scratch Pro. The mixer setup is half analog and the other half midi.
If you need a mixer I recommend the DDM4000. I've been mixing 25+ year. Pioneers products are over priced. You will not be disappointed with the DDM4000.

Comments about Behringer DDM-4000 5 Channel DJ Mixer:
I bought this mixer because I was stepping up from a 2-channel to a 5-channel. I read the reviews before I purchased it, and I made the right decision. This is a MAJOR upgrade from my previous 2-channel mixer. The difference in sound was heard immediately. It really packs a punch ! I'll admit, there are so many functions, I actually had to read the entire manual. You must be patient while learning the controls. I use Behringer speakers already so I had no issues with the quality. This is a very versatile mixer and I would recommend it to any DJ, club or mobile, plus you can't beat the price for what you are getting...same features as an $800-$1000 mixer.

Comments about Behringer DDM-4000 5 Channel DJ Mixer:
I am a huge fan of this product. I bought this mixer from PSSL.com more than 6 months ago. I have experience using a Pioneer djm 600 as well as the Tascam version of it & of course who can forget the Roland dj 2000? However when it comes to the Behringer ddm 4000 all in all it's just as good a mixer. I'm really enjoying using & playing with this mixer. I was gonna be happy with just a single effects pad and a single sampler, so I was ecstatic When the mixer arrived & had 2 effects pads & 2 samplers with backwards looping. Scratching, mixing, effects, sampling. All this to play with right at my fingertips. Good quality sound too with nice equalization plus Midi equipped & plenty of channels to hook up whatever you want. I've done some excellent quality recordings with my mixer so far that I'm very happy with. What else can you ask for in a D.J. mixer? What a great bundle of features for the price. At a time when saving every last dollar is important to me, it was good timing for this mixer to come out when it did for me. As technology continues to advance I hope to reap the rewards of even more gadgetry for less, long into the bright future to come. Peace, Cool Style P.S. Thanks Pro Sound for always being the very best!

Just got this lil puppy a week ago and its been non stop configuring and tinkering this thing has so many features I don't know where to start. The crossfader is very slick and at first seems too light but its an agile piece of hardware and the curve very adjustible even reversible for lefty hamsters like me. Got this thing hooked up to a sp-555 and mc-909 following bpm clock thanks to the midi features linked with some Denon decks and you got yourself a show stopping setup!!!

Comments about Behringer DDM-4000 5 Channel DJ Mixer:
i normally dont write reviews of products but after reading the rave reviews of this product from all of the other people i had to chime in.
okay so its a decent berhinger product, better than most of there product build wise and definitely there best mixer so far.
but why why why, after going to greqat lenghts with the effects and look of the mixer did they use those cheap faders and knobs.
the faders came off after a few days and i was being extra cautious with them.its something so simple but its gonna be small stuff like this that keeps it from being taken seriously.
also for the person who claimed the crossfader is smoother than his vestax, thats totally false.vestax have been on top of the scratch mixer market for years now,its widely accepted that they make great mixers and there fader are fantastic.to try and convince people that berhinger are threatening that is totally ridiculous(and before you ask ive owned and still own vestax mixers).
fix the faders and knobs and they could be onto something but as it stands now they have a good product let down by small details.
id recommend it to a beginner but not someone whos used to using quality equipment, for the price it cant be beat as a beginners mixer or someone who wants a cheap alternative to a pioneer mixer
