This was my first serious buy (after a brief fling with M-audio X-session), and I cant regret it since I was not sure whether I really want to stick to DJ-ing and did not want to spend more money. With dual audio output, versatile set of controls and included Traktor 3 LE it comes as close to the real thing as it gets for the money. There is plenty of buttons and knobs to twiddle with. Audio works well for me with 6 ms latency which is decent result too. After upgrade to full Traktor 3, it gets even better for that kind of money and is almost good enough for public performance. Unfortunately this is where subpar mechanical quality of controls breaks the deal for me. My right jog-wheel tends to turn with uneven resistance and when doing fine queue search this causes such uneven movement that Traktor gets confused and looses the track of beats. Pitch sliders are somewhat crude and one of the faders seems to be uncalibrated. Buttons are flush and brittle and only thing about controller surface that still works well for me are knobs. So I am still using it for practice and recording at home as well as for private parties but will definitely get something else for public performances. Also, if you plan to throw some of your first sets outdoors expect problems with this peace of gear since it may be the only thing in your first outdoor rig that requires AC power ;)
In any case, think of this thing as short-term investment and if you know that you are in DJ-ing for long haul you should afford something better. On the other hand those who just want to try out DJ-ing and may or may not stick with it will hardly find a better entry-level buy.

Comments about Behringer BCD3000 DJ Control Surface:
Bought this product in September 2009. At this time had no problems with it, works greate with Windows Vista 32 bit after you download drivers upgrade (never tried with Windos 7, but will try next month), only thing that you need to plug it in one and the same USB or you will have to reinstall drivers every time and they will start to conflict, but if you reinstall driver manualy it may help, ofcorse recomended to delete old driver (if you plug it in different USB). Good reaction to commands, can be remaped.

Comments about Behringer BCD3000 DJ Control Surface:
i have tried whit 4 laptops, toshiba, acer, compact and hp, it only works flawlesly whit an old hp laptop the only thing is that takes a long time to load the songs(45 seconds maybe more)but it starts and stops ramdomly in the other new and faster laptops. i have installed and fallow all instruction on how to make it work(from behringer and native instruments) but this thing wont work as it should. when you look for help in native instruments they say its behringer foult. i will like for this product to be more software and laptop friendly but i dont think so.so if you have a old laptop or a nice pc this is for you but if you have a newer laptop stay away from it.

Comments about Behringer BCD3000 DJ Control Surface:
WARNING: The photo and the marketing copy make it seem like you can simply plug a microphone into this unit and mix its output with the music you play through decks A and B, but that isn't true. There are several serious problems.
1. The microphone (and also the external phono and line inputs) won't even work until you reprogram the unit using midi commands from some external device or software. That's right, those inputs and the knobs that are supposed to control them do not function at all until you reprogram the unit. Which wouldn't be too bad if the manual explained clearly how to do that, but...
2. The documentation (manual) that comes with the unit does not sufficiently explain how to make those programming changes which means that many users will not be able to make the microphone input work at all. But even if you did, it may not matter because...
3. The microphone signal is NOT routed to the main output where it could be mixed with the music you are playing. Instead, it is routed through deck A where it REPLACES whatever music signal playing on that deck at the time. That means you CANNOT talk over a song playing in deck A because turning on the mic would eliminate the music. You can only talk over music playing in deck B.
Imagine working a gig and only being able to use the microphone when a song was playing in deck B but never when a song was playing in deck A. Honestly, what engineer thinks that is an acceptable situation?
In order to use the mic with whatever song is playing, you will need an external mixer which means you must lug around another piece of gear.
Behringer: If you put a mic input on a DJ controller, please make sure it works properly. Otherwise, skip the mic input entirely so people are not mislead.

Comments about Behringer BCD3000 DJ Control Surface:
When this mixer works, it is a decent mobile dj solution, but the ease of use ends there. Setting up on 32bit Vista is a chore at best, and there is no working method to install on 64bit Vista. I also experienced problems with Traktor's stability on 32bit Vista, and had the program crash on me a few times in the middle of events (luckily I had backups in place). If you have the opportunity to use with XP, I believe you will be satisfied with the usage of the program and controller. The controller itself is sturdy and built well and has zero performance issues one year in, with about 2 dozen gigs under its belt. I will be upgrading to a more advanced controller soon though, because once you get comfortable with the BCD-3000, you immediately realize the limitations of it. It's a shame the controller seems like such a afterthought programming and compatibility wise, considering the build quality.

Comments about Behringer BCD3000 DJ Control Surface:
This kit looks great and sounds good for the buck, but if you are looking for a more pro system you may find yourself looking elsewhere. The feel of the kit is too "plasticky" The jog wheels are not consistent at all and their calibrations are uneven,at times they might even stick,so happens with the faders also.It is not compatible with Vista 32,64 nor windows 7(not even with the downloadable upgrades). Its a great tool for home practice, but i would`nt rely on it for professional use.

Comments about Behringer BCD3000 DJ Control Surface:
I got this for Christmas in 2007. It works great and sounds exceptionally good. The functions are very cool for the software it comes with (Traktor 3 LE). The rear Phono and Line Inputs, as well as the microphone input, are VERY handy. I usually hook up a Turntable to each of the Rear Phono inputs. You can hook up a CD or Tape player to the Line input to. Overall, this unit is manufactured well, great price, and well worth the money.
