I bought this for my 3 year old boy and initially he used it for singing (with a connected effects processor.) I then tried it with my wind synth and was quite impressed, I have also used it with electronic drums (Korg Wave Mini) and was also impressed. It is a good portable speaker for home reference and practice.
When first purchased the battery worked just fine, but less than a year later it is completely dead. I think the issue is that if you leave the unit plugged in for an extended period of time that it fries the battery (poor recharge controller.) It is also possible that leaving it unplugged for an extended period of time might destroy the battery, especially if left on (an issue with lead acid batteries as a whole.)

I have had this PA Unit for less than 2 years, had rarely used and the battery won't charge, works if plug into AC.
Replacement battery can be hard to find and may need to order from China. Expect to pay $40.00 plus for a replacement battery. Does not take a normal type battery. Uses SHENGWEI 6FM2.6-E04 (12V2.6ah/20HR I suggest to make certain can get a replacement battery. Unit itself voice quality is decent. Battery life is not to good, perhaps I had a bad battery but am stuck buying a replacement battery and not certain if the new battery be any different and wish was a battery can pick up at a local store. Based on my experience would not suggest for a friend to purchase but then could have had a weak battery as otherwise been a great PA Unit
Comes with a mike and be nice if had a mike holder when not using which am sure can make some thing up.
