When I am playing a show and singing with my guitar, there are often times that I am not playing while singing. I figured that a good noise gate would help to reduce string squeal and such, so I bought mine off eBay for a song. Slammed it in my guitar rack and I do use the compressor, but I mainly use the noise gate. It travels well, lights up the rack, and does what I ask it to do without problems.
