The Behringer VMX1000 has been out for a few years now, and by far it is a great product especially for the price. behringer does an excellent job of make quality prodcts for a really good price. my only one complaint is that this mixer doesnt contain a BNC connector for a gooseneck lamp, which is rare for them not to contain a BNC connector. I was able to rig up a solution for that for under $5,problem solved. Overall a great mixer and another excellent product from behringer...Another plus is the fact that their crossfade slider moves like its got gallons of oil, which is very helpfull. The negative to a crossfader with that manuverability is that it's lifetime isnt quite as long.

Ive Had This Mixer Since 2005 I Played A Show In The Rain This Mixer Is Still Working I bought A New Mixer Don't Like It So Im Getting One More Of These My Old One Has Gone Through Alot Light's Don't Work My falt Love The XLR Outputs Most Shows I Do Are Large Or In The Club And I Still Use The Vmx1000 DJ Darren Scott

I myself don't have one of these mixers but my friend does he also is a pro dj and he askes me for advise when he hunts for dj gear + i'm his Engineer in the live sound field and radio broadcast I've dj'd several dances with this mixer and i love the 2 dedicated mics plus the 5 avail inputs we use a Numark media player an American Audio 2 CD player deck and left ch 5 open for mp3 player support this is one very flexible mixer for the price Behringer did a great job on this one the only thing i don't like is the taper of the slide faders not as linear as the discontinued dx 1000 mixer but i've been mastering that issue + I cannot monitor the mic mix in the headphones on the final mix but other than that I still want this mixer...[...] Keep Rocking!!

I don't know how to say it but this product has made my life as a DJ very easy now. I need to get a Reverb or a Delay for when i do Karaoke. I don't think i will every have to buy another mixer for the rest of my life i have always wanted a Stanton RM-80 but this blows everything i have ever used or touch to shame. Behringer did it once again.

The biggest thing you have to overcome when using this mixer is that it is a multichannel mixer first, and a Crossfade mixer second!
This simply means that the crossfader ONLY applies to the two channels it is set to. So, if you have a volume slider in a different channel turned up, it WILL come through, that is what it was designed to do!
Once you get used to that feature, it is a great mixer.
It has very accurate controls, great response, and a multitude of input options! (I have 12 inputs connected, and switching is easy!)
If you just take your time with it and plan out what you need to do, this will work wonders for you!
It is great, I would get another.

I was really excited to use this mixer when I first opened it up, but then after using it for only 10 minutes I was disappointed. One of the major flaws in this mixer is that even when all the faders are down to "0", you can still hear sound coming through from the active signals. MAJOR ANNOYANCE when you are trying to do professional mixing.
On top of that, if you have slider #5 turned up, and then assign the "B" side of the crossfader to anything other than channel 5, channel 5's audio signal will come on and override all the other channels. Again, very annoying. Ended up sending this unit back...will look for something a little higher up on the quality list.
