Okay, if you are looking at this speaker then you are probably looking to save some money and wonder if these are any good at the price they are. Don't let the low price fool you, these speakers jam. The sound is not just good, it's great. No over coloration. The highs are smooth yet powerful. The mids bring out vocals, guitars, and synths extremely well. Bass is prominant without boominess. Dance music or live drums carry a strong presence and can be felt as well as heard. Bass performs evenly with the overall mix with little EQ work needed. Can easily be used without a sub in small to medium venues. In larger venues (>4000 sq ft) I do use 18"subs to help it thump a little more. I found these sound very good with low wattage (example:powered mixer), but these speakers really come to life with a good quality external amp. I use an amp with 750 rms, 2000 peak at 4 ohms. With this kind of power these things really rock. As for performance versus price = there is nothing on the market that can compare at twice the price maybe even three times the price.
