What are the dimensions of this mixer, how much does it weigh, and can this mixer fit into an ata style floor case such as the Prosound FR1006 10 X 6 Top Load Equipment Case + (Item # 70060) or something like that?
BEST ANSWER: The dimensions are 14 x 16.9 x 3.5 and the weight is 10.5 pounds. It will fit this case if it is made rack compatible (buy rack ears for the mixer)

If I use this as an interface for ableton, can I set each of my MIDI instruments to be sent to a channel on this mixer?
BEST ANSWER: No this will not function that way. You will need to use something like the APC40 Ableton Controller.

i can't seem to record with this mixer. i can play music through my Cubase5 software, and it comes through perfectly fine, but when i have anything plugged in to record, there is no level. there is nothing. phantom power is on, and i can even hear the mic through my speakers, i just don't have anything coming through my DAW when i try to record. Why is this happening?

X2222USB Great if you are. Not? NO.
Pros: Compact,Accurate Controls,Requires good practices,Easy To Use,Excellent Sound,Versatile
Behringer is a CLASS ACT. They assume you are, or you would have gone with some buzzy "unpicky" unit. You can't get away with directly pluging in a noisy unbalanced low level line's 1/4" plug into the X2222, like from a guitar. In an emergency repair situation, you might cheat and solder on a male XLR plug to that cable, and put up with slight buzz from having a long unbalanced line. (DON'T even consider using a dangerous adapter plug!) PROPERLY Behringer makes a small ~$20 BALUN box to correct this NORMAL musician's problem without surgery. USE IT and run a balanced cable from the x2222 to the Balun box NEAR the guitarist, to MINIMIZE HUM. DO NOT use an XLR adapter plug ANYWHERE as this HIGHLY risks leverage-breaking the socket! It will likely get you fired if any top people see you use one! The X2222 and it's slightly bigger brother are great. If your tech-technique is together, you will also be great, which will include searching for a double male XLR CABLE to use the Fuzz modeler, or simply ordering the male XLR plugs and BALANCED (two wire) shielded cable WHOLESALE and making them up to perfect length yourelf, which the pros do. If you can't do that or have it done, I would be totally uncooperative about you wrecking my equipment with those dangerous adapter plugs! BTW, you'll love the X2222USB Manual! I personally think the bigger unit sacrifices handy compactness for probably unnecessary inputs, when doing on-location work.

UPDATE on factory production change

UPDATE. There has been a production change in this piece of equipment, AND the front panel lebeling does not reflect that change. But if you know about it, this can actually be a good thing. The row of 1/4" LINE INPUT jacks right below the XLR jack inputs, NOW are LOW LEVEL INPUTS capable of accepting for example an electric guitar output directly without the need for a preamp, OR gain can be turned DOWN to accept the higher LINE level inputs just like always, and as the panel labeling still says LINE. Note that a BALANCED 1/4" system will also work properly there, if you have one. BUT all this creates the temptation to run a LONG unbalanced cable from a distant guitar, which will have a lot of new people doing it, and getting a non-professional amount of hum that way, so don't do that. Stick with the standard XLR balanced system for long runs.
