For a while I went to all in one on board modeling effects. And their are some good ones out there. Great for practicing. But not so with live performances. If one effect goes south the whole unit has to go out for repairs. The Boss CH1 is compact so your pedal board is not so cramped. Rugged construction, ease of use, and very reliable makes it my product of choice. Don't take my word for it. Check out any used equipment online auctions and see how fast the Boss CH1 gets snapped up. Everyone can't be wrong.

Like all Boss pedals, solid and long-lasting. It gives most every chorus effect I want, from chimy clean to Van Halenish distortion. My only small complaint is it is not as bright-sounding as I would like.
