Can you use customizable/printed gobos with the 100 IRC? Thinking of using to project wedding logos on walls/dance floor
Willie P on Mar 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes you can. As long as the lens is the proper diameter you're good to go. I've seen them in use a few times with this particular fixture.
What is the major difference between Intimidator 100 IRC and Intimidator 150?
Art C on Jul 17, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hey Art. Good question! They do have some similarities but also some critical differences. Similarities include the fact that they both operate in 6 or 11 DMX Channel Modes and have identical Pan/Tilt functionality. However, the Intimidator 100 IRC has a remote control option which allows for easy-to-use wireless control and triggering- the 150 doesn't have this feature. The 100 IRC is lighter at 6.6 lbs versus the Intimidator 150's 9.3 lbs (the 150 is also about an inch wider and longer). The Intimidator Spot 100 IRC also has a tighter beam angle of 13° vs the 150's 15°. The trade off and cause for the difference in price point is (1) The 150 has 9 color options + white as well as 9 Gobo options + open while the Spot 100 IRC only has 7 in each category (2) The 150 is brighter with 4,300 lux @ 2 meters vs. the Spot 100 IRC's 3,280 lux @ 2 meters (3) The 150's LED bulb has a higher wattage of 25W vs. the Spot 100 IRC's 10W bulb. Ultimately, the Spot 100 IRC (although it is definitely a DMX capable light) is tailored for ease-of-use functionality (via remote control) and for the user who might not want/need a DMX controller for his or her application, whereas the Intimidator 150 might be for the user who already has or is planning on having a more involving DMX set up (i.e., a set up that uses several DMX lights and a DMX controller).

Chauvet's Intim Spot 100 IRC is a winner
Pros: Smooth,Bright,Crisp Gobos,Compact

As a staff reviewer, I get a chance to see a lot of new products. Most are pretty good, some are dogs and a few stand out as either game changers or a major value. I think the Chauvet Intimidator Spot 100 IRC falls into a little bit of both categories.

Historically, commpact moving heads used expensive discharge lamps. Early LED moving heads fell short of real output. This 3rd gen compact moving head Inti Spot 100 IRC uses the latest LED technology to produce bight crisp beams but without the hassle of gas lamps that constantly have to be replaced (and are expsensive). Traditionally, lights this inexpensive were weak, but not the Chauvet Intimidator Spot 100 IRC. It also has cool features ussually found in more expensive lights like continuously scrolling color and gobo wheels (7 colors and 7 gobos).

This light gives you the moving head experience for not a lot of dough. HOWEVER... this light is not going to be ultra bright and light up performers on a stage. For that you'll need to step up to a brighter fixter.

Perfect for traveling band or DJ
Pros: Automation,Irc Control Dmx Or Auto,Effective Lighting,Small Lightweight,Gobos And Multi Colors,Easy to use
Cons: none

I ended buying a second Chauvet Intimidator Spot 100 IRC Moving LED Light after seeing how fantastic the first one worked. The combination of two of them working together along with our other small laser effects is unbelievable for a portable small and afforable lighting setup.
