I'm not sure what "static" means in the description. I want to daisy chain it with my other stage lights to have a brighter white on stage. Does this function like a regular DMX light (I have the ability to vary the brightness without strobe effects - I'm presuming that's what static means). This unit plugs directly into a standard power outlet. The unit is not weather proof so it is not reccomended to be permanently installed outdoors but it may work for your application if you cover the unit with a thick clear plastic bag and tie it up tight so water can not get in. If connected to a motion sensetive power device it may work well for deer repel. It will scare the heck out of them because the unit is very bright. It all depends on the area you are going to be flooding. It is a pretty bright strobe light so you can flood large areas with a smaller number of these lights.
