Scorpion™ Storm FX is a DMX-512 controlled red and green effect laser that creates a unique star field effect with many patterns and hundreds of beams, powered by 30mW green and red laser modules. It offers color selection of red, green or red and green with strobe control. Dual effect motors allow control of rotation and shutter effect.
All Scorpion™ series lasers comply with FDA/CDRH standards for Class 3R.

This is a nice little unit. Power output is very good. I have been playing with the DMX programming, and there is a lot of parameters to tweak to keep it interesting. I would recommend getting this model as opposed to their $100 cheaper model, which only has 1 axis motor of control. This unit has 2 axis of motor controls, and allows for more interesting patterns. The green is very bright, but the red is not quite as bright as I would like.
One thing to note for home use, this unit is very loud, especially when both motors are doing a "stutter" (drawing solid lines) effect. Not a problem if you have a loud soundsystem, but its not well suited for quiet situations.

This is an awesome laser. I plugged it in and was blown away. Kids where amazed and in awe. It filled the room and I even used it outside and it filled the woods. The patterns kept people looking to see what was next. It is dmx and I look forward to using my controller to see how I can use it even better.

I have a low ceiling in my basement about 6 Feet & 2 Inches but keep parties all the time. I'm interesting in purchasing this light but aware of the potential danger of eye contact with the laser. I know you're suppose to mount it above eye level My question is...Would this be safe to use with a low level ceiling?
