What do you think about using this amp to power up some Yamaha SW218V Subwoofers?
Lenny on May 22, 2012
BEST ANSWER: This XLS-5000D amp is NOT powerful enough to push a pair of these SW218Vs. This amp has been discontinued as well. These Yamaha speakers are very large and require allot of power to properly run. I would reccomend purchasing two lower powered amps and bridging each and running one amp per speaker. The XLS2500s would be ideal for this. This way you will achieve the proper headroom for maximum performance. If you have any further questions feel free to call. 800-945-9300.

Freakin' Awesome!!!!
Pros: Good Power Output,Great Sound Quality,Easy To Set Up
Cons: Heavy bulky

I replaced my CE2000 with this amp to better power my subs(2). I heard the difference in power and sound immediately in a side by side (obviously CE2000 only rated for 425 Watts per channel). This thing powers my 2 subs and doesn't even break a sweat. It's heavy, but not heavier than two powered subs that would give me the same output. Plus the price is just right for this kind of power. There is nothing else that comes close.
