Comments about Crown XTI-4000 Power Amp 650W @ 8 Ohms:
As the president of a multi-system DJ company, it's Crown amps that have dominated our systems since 1988. Don't get me wrong, QSC and Crest are both fine amps (and one of each is in two of our systems), but it's Crown I always seem to gravatate to for dependability, power, and value. I have the first Crown I bought back in 1990 (Powerbase 1) and it's still in fine working condition. I own four xti-2000 and all are outstanding. This is my first xti-4000 and let me tell you, it's exceptional!

Comments about Crown XTI-4000 Power Amp 650W @ 8 Ohms:
I have to say, I was skeptical about this amp. I've only used QSC in the past but this amp doesn't disappoint. I bought it to push a B52 dual 18" folded horn woofer and let me tell you, Crown did a great job. It sends loads of power in bridged mode. never once overheated on me. in fact, I've never felt it get hot!!! even after hours of operation at performance levels! My amp took a fall from about 5 feet, not in a rack. the front of the chassis was bent in a bit but this puppy still worked beautifully. the on-board dsp is a huge plus (however the navigation takes some getting use to...I wish you could set the exact x-over point instead of preset frequencies)
And now that Crown is running rebates on the XTI series how could you not spring for one?

Q:
what the best setting for double 18 on this ampAsked on 8/17/2010 by Booty from louisiana1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
If your double 18 subs are 4 ohm cabinets, then you would be best running this in stereo with a dual 18" cabinet on each side. If you have 2 single 18" cabinets, then you should run it in bridged mono and daisy chain the subs.Answered on 8/20/2010 by Anonymous
