Guys you will hear how much better your powered speakers will sound when you set this product up. However, it is a little hard to set up I had to read the instructions about 5 times and jack with it a little. The Driverack Px is very compact and does not weight much. There is little option on powered speaker brands programmed to it but you can use the Custom Setting if your brand is not in there. Over all I'm very happy with my Driverack Px.

Bought this unit in an effort to slim down my DJ gear. This unit IS simply amazing in the things it can do and the sound quality. Though DBX has designed this for self powered speakers, it works FANTASTIC on traditional passive speakers powered by outboard amps. Though the product description states it has bandpass filters, this is actually an active 2-way crossover...no...it's really BETTER than an active crossover since you have TOTAL control of crossover points, amount of overlap between highs & lows, and rolloff slopes. It took me 3 straight days of playing around with it to get a feel of the controls. It IS intimidating and confusing at first, but as you play with it, you will understand what each feature does, AND how your various settings sound together in the "final mix." So I went from 4 separate rack gear to just one PLUS the overall sound has improved thanks to the famous DBX quality. I did an A/B comparison between the DRPX (Ch1) and my old setup (CH2) and the DRPX sounds cleaner and punchier. My old system is NOT cheap low budget gear, and I use strictly balanced cables. WHEN you get the Driverack PX (Yes, if you are SERIOUS about quality gear and total control of the audio, you WILL buy this) I did notice the sound IS noticeably better if you use balanced cables (XLR "mic" cables, or TRS 1/4" plugs) Take a look at all the features the PX has, then price single-feature processors that are of similar quality as DBX, and your total cost will quickly exceed $600 and STILL not have everything the DRPX offers for just [$]. While you will see the DRPX used more often by live bands, it is amazing in a DJ setup. I am so So SO glad I got it!!!!!

YES! The DRPX, though described as a processor for active (powered) speakers, it does have a stereo 2-way active crossover built in. If you are needing to run a 3 or 4 way active setup, then the DRPA will be needed. For a full range or 2-way active setup, the DRPX is awesome! My setup is a powered top and passive bottom. I use the PX as an active 2-way crossover to split the signals. The 2-way crossover also works for full range mains and subwoofers.Answered on 4/9/2011 by DJ-RL from Gulf Coast
