No more canned air and dusting!
Pros: Form fitting,Easy To Use,Saves Time,Design,Protective
I have been using Decksaver products for a little while now on various CD decks, mixers, and MIDI controllers. Every one of them, including the new unit for the Numark NS6, is well designed and has a perfect fit that just doesn't lay on top of the equipment, but actually conforms to the edges of the equipment and stays put with just enough friction.
Why you need Decksavers: DUST. Well, not just dust, but any sort of crud that might get on or into your equipment...dust, dirt, airborne particulate, liquids, etc. The Decksaver stops them all. Instead of having to use those cans of compressed air (or an air compressor) or those fluffy household dusters trying to get in and around every single knob, fader, button, display, platter, etc, you can just pop on your Decksaver when you're not using your NS6 (or other equipment that Decksaver makes covers for) and not have to worry about your equipment getting dirty. Yes, the tough polycarbonate Decksaver will get dusty/dirty, but I'd much rather THAT get dusty, dirty, or spilled on than the equipment underneath. The Decksaver is very easy to blow off or wipe off since it has a very slick surface with gentle curves and no nooks and crannies to deal with. Worst case, you can put the whole cover in the sink and wash it off.
Did I mention these things look great? The smoky/clear polycarbonate cover not only adds a tough, protective shell, but it looks great while doing it. If you have multiple pieces of equipment with Decksavers, they all look like they belong together and have a very nice aesthetic.
I use the NS6 Decksaver at a nightclub where I put the cover on each night when I leave. I use Decksavers for other equipment in my home studio since there may be days or weeks when I'm not using that equipment...but when I DO go back and pop the covers off, everything is nice and clean and ready to go.
One last bonus - most of the Decksavers, including this one for the NS6, are designed so that the covers can be on with everything still hooked up. This is great for mobile DJ's who need to step away from their rigs (for whatever reason) and keep wandering hands off their controllers, mixers, etc. I'm not sure if you would get much heat buildup over an extended period of time, but it certainly allows you to keep a mix playing when you're away without fear of somebody randomly hitting buttons or touching the platters wanting to "play scratch DJ." :-)
I highly recommend these for the NS6 and any other equipment you have. Decksavers are made for many different types of equipment and they are always adding new models for new (and older) equipment.
