I bought this mostly for mobile gigs to keep the knobs/buttons from getting busted in transit. With the Decksaver on I can fit my VCI-300 (+ laptop and headphones)in a messenger bag or backpack and BIKE to a gig. While on display at home it keeps the dust off and since I can see the VCI underneath it reminds me to use it more often ;)
It's versatile enough to use with a wide variety of bags instead of going the flight case/custom bag route.
When at the gig and not in the mix I keep it covered to thwart off spilled drinks!

I've seen Media controllers thrown into backpacks, with knobs broken off and platters that don't spin as freely as they used to, so I vowed that it would not happen to me, so I purchaed the Decksaver for my VCI-300 controller. Now while in transport next to my laptop or stored on my shelf I don't need to worry about my knobs or sliders being forced in directions they were not made to go. Just yesterday my VCI survived what could have been disasterous when my girl tripped and spilled her diet pepsi all over the place, including my covered VCI unit. Thank God I had the Deck Saver on it!!! Now only if they came in different colors...

I'm a mobile DJ, so with the VCI-300, I have it in the "glide style" case to protect it when traveling to gigs and keep it in the case while using it like it was designed. The "DECKSAVER" can not be used with the VCI-300 in the DJ case.
So unless you keep your VCI-300 at home or have it permantly mounted somewhere for DJing, it will work. If your a mobile DJ like me, don't waste your money.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
