Just select the SOURCE button on either deck to switch over to CD playback seamlessly. This clever combo system makes the DN-HC4500 the most powerful and flexible DJ hardware controller on the planet. In addition, current Denon DN-D4500 / DN-D4000 owners are welcome to enjoy all these benefits by purchasing the DN-HC4500 and upgrading a system to be computer performance ready.
Multi Functional Touch Sensitive Jog Disc
The 70mm JOG Disc is con-structed with an ultra high-resolution pulse and touch sensor to accurately reproduce the most subtle or swift scratching movements made by the human hand. Of course, the Jog Disc can be mapped to perform other vital functions too such as, pitch bending, scanning, file searching and dry/wet control for effects.
Fluorescent Display (w/ 2-line Character Text Support)
Another unique quality of the DN-HC4500 is its informative & animated tube display. The display offers two lines of character information to quickly navigate through your files, folders and confirms you loaded the correct file without having to look up at your monitor. A visual 32-position Marker Point indicator follows your hand movements at lighting speeds without drift. Other indicators include Looping, Hot Starts, BPM info, Elapsed/Remain Time, MP3/WAV file types, and other useable indicators.

The controller is excellent, one of the best i've used yet, the software -reflex on the other hand is lame. however, what do you expect for free ? pcdj has a new software named DEX, it's excellent and highly recommended! couple the new DEX with this controller, add the BU-4500 outboard dual tray with this unit and you've got one killer setup. emergency backup with the dual tray for playing cd's and mp3 cd's! as well as controlling your laptop / harddrive via DEX. I've used the new version of pcdj with zero failure! (considering older versions sucked and my partner in the company refused to use serato) We've since switched to DEX and use the new Denon HC-4500 controllers with ZERO FAILURE !!! I've personally left the laptop running for a week straight with NO crashes with this unit as a controller.
this is a must own !

This is by far the best rack mounted controller on the market, the down side is the included software, the software is made by PCDJ (bad reputation) Reflex LE version is included and is limited at best, and the released of the full version of Reflex is been pushed back at least 7 times since march and they still don't have a date yet of when it will be released, so is your choice if u want to wait or make it work with another software.

Comments about Denon DN-HC4500 USB/MIDI/Audio Interface/Controlle:
Bought this for use with the Rane MP4. I also purchased an Mac with OSX 10.5.7 installed. Apparently Apple has disabled midi control with 10.5.7. I had to downgrade to OSX 10.5.6 for the controller to work.
From reading Denon's forums, this appears to be an Apple issue with Midi.

Comments about Denon DN-HC4500 USB/MIDI/Audio Interface/Controlle:
this thing is the BOMB . I use it with VDJ 5.7 software and it works flawlessly. Has the feel and operation of what you're used to in Denon pro cd players. All kinds of bells and whistles, unlimited potential via mapping of the buttons through midi. The built in sound card is self powered so it frees up a USB bus on my laptop. The only negative is its a little heavy...oh yeah and go ahead and throw away that lame software that comes with it PCDJ "Reflex" what a joke???
For djs jumping off the cd's and into computer this controller with the Virtual DJ (Numark Cue) software and the jp boggis mapper and you will be SMASHING the 1's & 2's now get busy playing the MUSIC
