Comments about Denon DN-MC6000 DJ Mixer and Controller with I/O:
I have been DJing for over 12 years and most of the time I have used CDJs or time code. This is a great upgrade for me because it doesn't require calibration. It is also a stand alone mixer and I can still use my CDJ if required. The Denon MC 6000 also have balanced outputs and the best feature, it is compatible with both Traktor Pro and VDJ. That is the main reason I bought it. If you're experiencing software issues you can always change. I have been using it with VDJ. To be able to Cue the opposite track the cross fader in the software needs to be in the middle. I think this is the only Bug I have found. Other than that great midi controller.

SOMEONE IS GOING TO HAVE A DEFECTIVE UNIT.I BOUGHT THIS CONTROLLER FOR IT'S DURABILITY AND IT'S COMPATIBILITY WITH TWO PROGRAM'S TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO & VDJ PRO.IF YOU WANT TO PERFORM ULTIMATE TRICKS WITH IT THIS IS NOT NOT THE ONE.YES YOU CAN USE THE FEATURE'S IT COMES WITH.IT IS NOT BUILT FOR SCRATCHING!THIS UNIT IS VERY TRANSPORTABLE SO IF YOU DJ AT MULTIPLE CLUBS LIKE I DO THEN THIS IS GOOD FOR YOU.I'VE BEING DJING SINCE THE EARLY EIGHTIES AND I HAVE THREE OTHER CONTROLLERS.

Comments about Denon DN-MC6000 DJ Mixer and Controller with I/O:
I have used various USB mixers now (Newmark, ADJ, Vestax, ect.) and I do like the fact that the Denon DN-MC6000 has a solid feel. Metal not Plastic is used for most of it's construction. The cue and play buttons are classic Denon rubber with a solid action. Faders and knobs have a good sound, jog wheels are very reactive but a bit small for my taste.
So now on to the disappointment. I got this unit from PSSL around April 8'Th 2011, around July 2011 the channel 2 pitch fader started to go bad. It would not pitch up, only down and the action was jumpy. A few weeks later the cross fader started to act up as well. I sent the unit to Denon for repair and all was fixed under warranty VERY quickly. I have to say my mixer was returned to me in under one week, including shipping time too and from. I wish the faders were user replaceable.
Now one more issue is happening that is not effecting performance but again has me worried about quality. The channel 1 cue LED's do not turn off completely now but instead fade mostly off and flicker a bit. It is also happening on the mic 2 button.
In conclusion this mixer is exposed to the club atmosphere and gets used hard. For the money and the fact that it is a Denon unit I would have expected it to hold up better. My Vestax VCI-100 is years older and is exposed to the same elements and has not experienced such issues. Because Denon was quick to fix and I have had no other performance issues I gave this unit a 4 star rating. However I don't feel this unit can take the real tough use so I will not be recommending this unit to a friend. Sorry, really I am a Denon fan and will still buy there products but not this one again.

The unit will be used for mobile gigs but not until the freezing issues related to the software the unit comes with is resolved. Its a solid piece of equipment. One of the best I've seen and used so far for the price. The best thing I like is its so easy to navigate. The sound is solid as well.

Comments about Denon DN-MC6000 DJ Mixer and Controller with I/O:
After a long search for a DJ midi controller I decided that this unit would be my go-to piece. I investigated the Traktor S4, and the Allen & Heath Xone:DX before settling on the Denon because the rack-mount, balanced outputs, and ability for stand-alone operation set it apart from the competition.
I've been playing with turntables and mixers since 1987 or so, and have been using a timecode system for about 2 years. Techno just keeps getting more minimal, so I have been dying to play more than 2 tracks at a time! I decided this Denon controller would be a great way to take the plunge into 4 deck control with Traktor.
This controller is a very solid option considering the price and the competitive options. The metal construction alone makes this unit feel way more robust than Xone or the S4. The jog wheels needed no calibration, and the .TSI file from the Denon website got the controller up and running in no time. It also has a fun "disco-mode" that it goes into on power-up that shows that all the blinky lights work. The stand-by mode was also a cool addition, since I tend to leave my DJ setup powered on all the time. The only real negative things I can think of about this unit at this point are that the EQ knobs are too small [seriously tiny] and that for some reason on power-up, the volume faders all default to playing at full volume. This is annoying when you forget that the computer thinks the fader is "up" when it looks like its down to the DJ. DJ presses "play" on one of the channels, and horrible loudness ensues. I'm hoping I can fix this by digging around in the Traktor settings though.
I've had some glitchy issues at the absolute limit, like when playing four tracks at once, with a loop set up on one track, and then trying to run effects over the loop, or switching back and forth between the A & B tracks quickly. In general, the mixer reacts better to a slow and steady wins the race approach. These glitches very likely were due to user error though, because I just realized that my Wi-Fi has been on for the past two weeks while I was getting used to the unit. [Pro Tip: Traktor and wireless internet do not always mix well together.] Also, many of these clashes occurred with improperly beat-gridded tracks. [see below]
I usually never trainwreck ;) so while it was awesome to get four tracks going at once it has been a tense few weeks while I've been mixing along and then all of a sudden I'm trainwrecking! aCK! I am 99% sure that this was due to user error though. [who, me trainwreck? lol] After poking around with Traktor the past few days I have found several tracks with horribly messed up beatgrids in my collection. This was never a problem when I used time code, but it became a problem when I started Sync-mixing. The Native Instruments Traktor user forums were very helpful in providing information on how to set up beat grids properly, and now I'm off to the races! With proper beat grids on your tracks, the MC6000 is SOLID and will have you rocking out in no time!

Denon did a great job with this one!... It works great with VDJ Pro 7 after a few mapping tweaks and midi settings on the Macbook Pro. I use it as a secondary system and for small events, but it works great for any situation.
It's the best controller in it's price range and better than some of the higher priced units...

A:
Q1: Yes This is compatible.Q:
i was djing at a weeding and my friend was also djing there and he had this controller and we saw that he had a playlist and carry it to the right side and it played automatically while there were eating...can i do this with any virtual dj or does it have to be with this controller or do i need to upgrade to pro version?3 answers
A:
It really depends on your controllers. In this case I wouldn't know what controller they have unless i get more info. Please call in at 1800 268 5520A:
That is a feature of Virtual DJ and has nothing to do with the controller. I am not sure if only the pro version of VDJ is the only one that has this because I have only used the pro version. If you are using a PC click the "start" button go to "all programs" and click, scroll to the Virtual DJ folder and click on it. There you will see a PDF file called "User Guide" and you can look to see if this feature is available for your version.A:
i dont recall ever using that feature but i do believe you can do that with any virtual d.jQ:

If I buy either Serato SL Or Traktor to be used with this unit, how easy is it to set the mappings or is it plug and play?2 answers

this will work with TraktorA:
It's plug and play with Traktor...Q:
Is this unit compatible with Serato Live software?...or can you get Serato Live as a upgrade instead of Virtual DJ or Traktor software?1 answer
A:
Unfortunately, the only way to get the jogwheels to work in Serato Scratch Live is with Native Support. You will still need a SL1 or SL2 for SSL to work. SSL still doesn't support output for the backlit LED buttons (unless it has Native Support).
