Comments about Denon DN-S3700 Digital Media Turntable:
I got 2 of these decks in the mail yesterday afternoon. Set up was simple as could be, and all of the interfaces were very intuitive and easy to learn.
What amazed me the most was how similar these decks are to my 1200's. (in both look and feel) For a DJ making the transition between vinyl and digital, I highly recommend these over the much more expensive Pioneer CDJ series. The 9" platter feels great (familiar) and gives the same amount of control as to be expected with a vinyl set-up. Within an hour of plugging them in, I was mixing tracks and had figured out most of the stand-out features. I love the fact that in addition to functioning as a regular CD/MP3player, I can use a hard drive, or other properly formatted USB media. A picked up a crossover cable to connect the decks together so they could share the same USB device, but I have not figured out how to make this work properly(I know...RTFM...bahhhh)
The auto-looping features are easy to use and enable on-the-fly remixing of songs. Add in the built in high, med, and low filters, echo effects.... I'm almost overwhelmed as to what all these decks are capable of.
I currently have my songs loaded onto 2 8GB SD cards which I have plugged into a USB converter. This works great, and I can easily take along a complete backup of all of my songs on another SD card in my wallet in case I have a SD card die on me. This works like a charm with no latency or skipping. When using a SD card or any USB device, I get the full waveform display, so I'll probably use the USB setting more often than just playing standard CDs.
I have not tested the MIDI functionality yet.
Save your money and get these decks. You will not be disappointed.

Comments about Denon DN-S3700 Digital Media Turntable:
I am an experienced Mobile DJ that appreciates the quality of music when played through the right equipment. The Denon DN-S3700 sets the bar "high" when compared to other CD/MP3/MIDI players on the market. The DN-S3700 comes with built in digital processors that enhances the quality of music during playback. The MIDI function works perfect with all functions of Virtual DJ 6.0.6. NO need for Timecodes. The DN-S3700 also gives you the ability to "cue" the next song with actual turntable like abilities. Also, the 10" platter that comes with a matching 10" vinyl, scratches, spinback, rotates, and feels just like a regular turntable. I have no regrets purchasing the DN-S3700. Also, the [$] price tag is very affordable.

Comments about Denon DN-S3700 Digital Media Turntable:
I'm a DJ & I spin on 2 turntables. Been wanting a digital option. Just got 1 of these & I love it. Although I was very disappointed to learn that Denon hasn't released a Mac version of its Music Manager App that comes with the 3700. It's necessary to process your tracks through this application to view their wave forms on the display. Honestly I'm very surprised since there are so many mac-based artists. The deck works just fine without being able to view the wave forms but it sure would be nice - as it would make phrasing & advanced cueing MUCH easier. Denon claims that they are working on a Mac version & haven't been able to get it done because of the economy - which I don't buy @ all. They just don't want to put much development into free software. But @ [$] a unit I feel very let down to not be included as a mac user. Other than that it's a great piece of equipment & the truest real vinyl feel attained in a CD deck so far. My only other complaint is that it has too many features if that is possible. I could do without so many buttons for a more organized layout, but who knows? maybe i'll use all those features 1 day... For me the moving platter was very important since I'm used to spinning vinyl. Also the USB port is a nice plus.

Great question. Out of the box the DNS3700 does not work with Serato. You would need to map it via MIDI for it to work with Serato.Answered on 7/6/2011 by BY from Cypress
