A highly rated affordable classical guitar that gives you a professional edge at a modest price, this is precisely why the CDN-240SCE feels so good, and sounds so good. These guitars rival many mid and upper line models of other popular makers.
Nothing has been sacrificed, from a solid Cedar top and cutaway body style to the laminated rosewood back and sides, rosewood fingerboard, an elegant gold Fender logo, wood mosaic rosette and a rosewood bridge with compensated saddle.
This Classical guitar will give you a warm and resonant sound that will inspire you.
With the built-in Fender Active Preamp with Piezo Pickup, Volume Control, and 3-Band EQ you can be heard above the band, or if you play solo you can run through a PA or acoustic guitar amp.
Novice players are encouraged by classical guitar instructors and luthiers to purchase slightly more expensive solid-top instruments whenever their budget allows.
The guitar’s top (soundboard) is the primary site of the instrument’s tone production. Many lower-end instruments have laminated or plywood tops that are tonally inferior to those with solid tops.
Ninety-nine percent of all beginners can hear the difference between solid and laminated plywood-top guitars when played back-to-back.

Comments about Fender CDN-240 SCE Acoustic/Electric Guitar:
I was looking for something that would be easier on my hands than my steel string guitars. Too long without playing and a bit of arthritis setting in. The narrow nut (compared to a standard classical), short scale (643mm), and nylon strings have proven remarkable helpful. I can play much longer without the pain or hand "lockups".Plugged in the guitars works nicely and the electrics do their job well. Unplugged it does not produce a huge volume but is more than acceptable; especially for practice. The strings were an important part of the equation. After trying several, I am now using Savarez 500 ARJ and am VERY pleased with the tone.Price was exceptional...[...] just a great experience. So good in fact we ordered a second guitar of the same type.
