I use this product as a bedroom DJ and for small house parties and dances. It hasn't failed me yet and hasn't given me any problems either. It is incredibly easy to use and doesn't take long to understand. Some of the cons are that it only controls 2 decks and the jog wheels aren't particularly amazing. It definitely will get you started with DJ but you will eventually want to upgrade to a more professional controller or cd players.

Been using this mixer for about a year, and I can say that the solid build quality has held up 100%, and now that I have it in a case, it is completely protected for life. I have used this an average of twice a week for the past year for 4-8 hours at a time at bars, weddings and more and have never had an issue. All features work as advertised, and I can't complain about the "starter" software that comes with it for the price (especially since they allow you to upgrade for cheap). I wish the sound output was slightly louder, but otherwise this product is a solid buy for beginners or seasoned users.

I bought the hercules RMX Console back in Nov.
2010.I was Djing off cds, and it was becoming a
hassle.I did alot of reseach on the Hercules RMX
Console,and found out that other Djs like it.Its
very easy to setup.In minutes I was mixing.I used
it at one of my Gigs,and i was very impress.No
more going through cd cases,which I have 7.All
my music is on my PC.I just did a 80's party.
Mixing,Looping,finding songs was ALL EASY.I'm
ready for my next gig. Hercules,well done,i
would recommend the Hercules RMX Console to other
Djs.

I was given one of these units by a rep for the company and I am sorry to say I could never get it to work dependably with Traktor. Being a professional DJ/Producer/Songwriter, I cannot recommend it. I DJ on many TV shows and cannot risk the chance of going down, ever. Would loved to be able to use it, as it was one of the first interfaces that had an audio interface built in and seemed like the answer to all my prayers. Didn't work out that way as far as using my program of choice, Traktor.

The programs has to many issues. I have a Virtual DJ Pro program and with this Hercules counsole everytime I turn on my computer it gives me a sound card error that I have to correct each time. when I create a play list at times i dosent play it continously like it should.

The Hercules RMX controller is a great price for a great product that gets the job done.
I'm a mobile DJ, and decided that I needed to drop some equipment weight (I ain't getting any younger!). My gear now is the Hercules RMX that I bought with the Odyssey Glide Case built for the Hercules, my laptop, a sound system, and single CD player (I can't bring myself to be completely sans-CD). I no longer need to have a huge, heavy carpeted DJ box, and my back is happier.
I use this with Numark's Virtual Vinyl, and the compatibility is perfect. Most everything on screen is controllable by the Hercules except for creating loops. Mixing,cueing, and normal DJ functions are all perfect.

Here's my issues with the product:
1. Other components such as a CD player, an iPod, or a microphone can be plugged right into the RMX. When I check the box in the software config to recognize the components, the sound quality gets poor. It may be something I've done wrong, but I don't think so. I use a combo amp, so keep the mic and CD plugged into other channels.
2. The scratch function is really not usable in live performance. There's a slight delay from action to recognition. As a mobile DJ that does bar mitzvahs and weddings, I'm really not doing a lot of scratching, but thought it was necessary to include in this review.

Anyway, bottom line: Excellent price for a rugged, quality piece of equipment. It's lightweight, and gets the job done.

I've been djing vinyl for 10 years now. I felt like I needed to give the virtiual dj a try. The price is right so what the heck. I bought some tracks off beatport and waited for the vdj. I was mixing within minutes. Beatmatching and mixing r a breeze with the vdj. U can record all your mixes in wav format straight to the computer. Sound quality is great. U can also hook your decks or cd players up to it. Well worth the [$] I upgraded to vdj 6 and love it. u dont need to though. I was hesitant at first but Im very glad I got this product. It's easy to transport and hooks up to any system within seconds. The only problem is I have to convert all my vinyl to wav. It's gonna take forever. This is a must for any mobile club dj. I love vinyl but vdj is much easier to use and transport. I'm hooked.

This kit in general works great right out the box with virtually most OS including 64 bit with little or no re-mapping or software tweeking necessary but very versatile if needed!Gives you the "D.J.hands on" feel(beats the pc mouse like a cat!)while mixing music and/or videos.Beginners and pros, both will apreciate the programmable obtions of the well designed and intuitive buttons and faders accessable via software included.Can use it as a stand-alone, all-in-one kit with laptop or as part of a more complex set-up. Just a little back-set for scratch DJ`s on behalve of latency on jog wheels and fader,but thats also "tweekable".All-in-all,its a great addition to any set-up!

Great controller. Great effects. Only one problem - the volume. Volume knobs are too sensitive and the volume changes by itself, you have to keep an eye on that and make sure the song you're mixing in is on the same level. Other than that it is a great console, if only the volume on the virtual dj was consistent with the controller.

If you are serious about your mixes, this is an excellent product. An all in one solution to digital DJing. This and a laptop and you are ready to go! I use Traktor instead of the supplied "light" program that is included.I am a professional DJ that has had my company MILES SOUND MUSIC PRODUCTIONS for over 20 years and I am one of the top DJs in Hollywood. I use this on all my TV Show warm-up, corporate and club gigs and it works flawlessly. I liked it so much that my other DJs are using it as well.

simply amazing this controller does it all and its under 350 bucks I was choosing between this one and the vestak the one with the serato itch but found out that the itch does not do video at all or karaoke I'm a mobile DJ. so this stuff matters to me and I'm sure if your in the clubs it will matter as well since everybody is doing music videos now a days so here is an inexpensive tool that anybody could use without spending thousands of dollars just to play videos on the clubs or on the road like me . the only issue that I have with it is that the software that came with it sucks a.... so if you havent already then i suggest upgrading to the pro version thats when you would be able to use all the features like timecoded cds or vynl or karaoke and the layouts are much better and you could always upgrade your software at their website and it has not frozzen up on me not even once since I had it . and i use it almost everyday for about 5 hours a day but then again i have 4 gigs of ram . but this software is the way to go if you still mixing with cds then you should def.. consider getting this tool . made my life alot easier and mixing became like a whole new world were you could actually see whats going on in the song . and for those serato users theres even a skin that looks like serato so you could mix with the exact same wave forms the only difference is that you could also do video on the hercules rmx without buying anything else so thats a big plus . and you got to ask yourself this question do you really want to carry all that equipment around to all your partys ? were in hercules rmx thats all you need and a laptop. and your set to go play anyware . of course having a back up system is always a good thing dont get me wrong but this controller is awesome and im never going back to mixing with regular cds again thanks hercules for making such a wonderfull tool .
