JBL PRX612M 12" Two Way Powered Speaker
PRX612M is the most compact and versatile speaker in the PRX600 Series. It has been designed to deliver maximum performance for its weight and size as both a stage monitor and a front of house main PA. Two user selectable EQ settings are provided to optimize the system for either application. With a dual socket pole mount the PRX612M is a perfect match with a PRX618S subwoofer, offering a high performance self-powered sub/sat system. The PRX612M is comprised of a 305 mm (12in) 265F Differential Drive® woofer, a 2408H-1, 37.5 mm (1.5 in) annular polymer diaphragm, neodymium compression driver mounted to a 90° by 50° horn, all driven by 1000 watt (dual 500 watt) Crown® Class-D digital power amplifier. A propriety DSP chip is at the core of a fully featured input section, providing user selectable system EQ, protection, input sensitivity selection, cross-over functionality, dynamic limiting and discrete component optimization. All PRX600 cabinets are built from a combination of 25mm (on the top and bottom for added rigidity) and 18mm, strong, light-weight poplar plywood made structurally sound with tongue and groove joints. All PRX600 Series cabinets are protected by JBL’s tour proven DuraFlex™ finish. Grilles are made from dent-resistant 16 gauge steel and handles are made from light-weight glass-filled nylon for added strength and durability. All M10 suspension points are constructed from 14 gauge steel and have been tested with a yield-strength of 1000 lbs. each. The amplifier input panel offers XLR or ¼ inch jack compatibility and a sensitivity switch provides extra flexibility, making it possible to connect literally any sound source without using a mixer. Signal present and limiter lights indicate the system status and assist in setting the optimum level, via the level control knob.Features:

These little speakers are incredible. I can't believe how much output they have for how small and light they are. Oh, and they sound incredible at the same time! Smooth and clean. They even produce some very impressive, warm deep bass considering they are a 12" top. Since the port is in the rear, these have the best bass response when placed near a wall.
With a flat eq, a pair of these 612's goes insanely loud. I've owned many, mean pairs of speakers over the years, and none compare in output to these. Not even 15" tops that i've used. They will play super loud all night without overheating.
Bottom Line: BUY THEM.

I've been a DJ for over 20 years and I have heard many different types of speakers(powered and non) and I have to say these little powered power house's are some of the best portable do it all speakers I've ever heard. For small venues these guys are great on their own, just add subs for more punch or for larger venues. Supper clean in both sound and looks. I am replacing my Yamaha SV212s with these, much more easy on the back and sound better than the big cabinets.

After running EON G2s with my main sound system for the past 6 or 7 years, and always owning 15" full range models for as long as I've been DJing, I never even really considered buying a 12" to cover the different sized rooms I play. After reading all the recent press releases and watching a couple of video reviews online, I jumped on board and picked up a pair of these to give me more power, AND in a smaller, lighter package. As for the sound- Man, these things are amazing. Tons of power, super detailed sound all around, and REALLY surprising lows! I've been using them for about 6 months now, both by themselves in a local bar, and coupled with my SRX subs for weddings and larger events. These little guys really fit the bill; not a sign of any distortion at all at high volume, and transporting them and throwing on them a stand is a snap. EXTREMELY pleased! A++
I would recommend picking up the bags for these as JBL's Duraflex coating is attractive and strong, but does tend to show scuffs pretty easily.

These speakers are worth every penny. Compared to my prx 515spkrs these are much lighter just as loud (without the low end) and gives me additional room in the truck while transporting. Couldn't be happier. I am a dj that gigs everywknd and really needed an even better portable rig and jbl did not disappoint. The prx 515s are also wonderful but these take it a step further. Ill always trust the jbl line.
