JBL PRX615M 15" Two Way Powered Speaker
PRX615M is a 2-Way 15" self-powered sound reinforcement system that offers a balance between size and performance. It comes in a small, lightweight, versatile and powerful package that's perfect for musicians, entertainers and DJ's who count on portability. It makes an exceptional light-duty installation speaker that can be hung by suspension points. Overcoming challenging audio environments and requiring loud volumes are easy when the PRX600 Series speakers were designed to excel in sound reinforcement! You can tailor the EQ - 'flat' for speech intelligibility and 'boost' for enhanced bass and crisp highs for recordings - when balance is needed for live music. Also directly connect a microphone to the speaker when needed for quick PA applications.
The PRX615M is protected by JBL's tour proven DuraFlex finish. Grilles are made from dent-resistant 16 gauge steel and handles are made from light-weight glass-filled nylon for added strength and durability. The PRX615M cabinet is built from a combination of 25mm (on the top and bottom for added rigidity) and 18mm, strong, light-weight poplar plywood made structurally sound with tongue and groove joints. All M10 suspension points are constructed from 14 gauge steel and have been tested with a yield-strength of 1000 lbs. each.
The PRX615M is comprised of a 380 mm (15 in) 265F Differential Drive dual voice-coil and magnetic gap, neodymium woofer, a 2408H-1 37.5 mm (1.5 in) annular polymer diaphragm, neodymium compression driver mounted to a 90° by 50° horn, all driven by 1000 watt (dual 500 watt) Crown Class-D power amplifier. A propriety DSP chip is at the core of a fully featured input section, providing user selectable system EQ, protection, input sensitivity selection, cross-over functionality, dynamic limiting and discrete component optimization.

Comments about JBL Pro JBL PRX615M 15" 2- Way Powered Speaker +:
I purchased 2 of these as a powered upgrade for my mobile DJ business. I have pushed these pretty hard since having them and they have performed decently well. I have them pared with 2 JBL JRX118SP. The 2 complaints I would have with them are 1) they are putting out a lot of heat from their poweramps (I know Crown makes phenomenal products but I am worred about over-heating), and 2) they have a crackle to the audio when at a high volume. Over all though, so far, a great product.

I upgraded to these from a B52 Matrix 1000V2. While the Matrix was a great system, the sub began to wear on me. Enter the PRX615m. Being a Crown fan since the 80's the JBL combo was a "no-brainer". Light weight, great sounding(lots of compliments on the sound!!). I am happy I made this purchase. I supplement the low end with a MRX518s and a XTI1000, another JBL/Crown combo. Might look into the 618XLF sub, hearing that one is a beast!!

Ok so here I was trying to decide between the PRX615m & the QSC K12, I finally decided to go with the PRX615m being that both the PRX & K12 weight the same and for the price I would be getting more bass out of the PRX being that it came with a 15" woofer, the only thing I was not liking was the fact that the PRX was a little bigger both in height and width, but only had 1 handle, so to carry around it can be a bit annoying, but let me tell you this PRX baby rocks, sounds great & the cabinet has a very nice look to it, I was never a fan of JBL or a fan of plastic cabinets, I use to own Mackie's but didn't like the plastic type of speaker, I would also say as soon you buy this speaker test it, I bought it and didn't test it until the same day of the party and 1 speaker didn't turn on at all, I mean didn't power up at all! good thing these bad boys hit hard so I was able to do the party with 1 speaker, [...] I only have 1 speaker now and have an upcoming event.[...] I would chose this over the K12 & Mackie!

I am impressed with how lite they are for the sound they put out. I have only used them at 2 events with a crowd of around 200 at each and have gotten complements each time. I have used JBL SR4725s for about 20 years and was hoping this was a good replacement for them. The one thing they fall short on is JBL could have made the boxes just a little larger to get more bass. A lot of mobile can not carry 2 tops and 2 subs with them to every gig and 1 box that can bridge the gap would be nice.

Q:
Does it have handles?4 answers
A:
Large die-cast aluminum handle bar with a fine tuned ergonomic rubber grip for maximum comfortA:
yeah, it has only one handle. its not that heavy anyway...A:
Yes, but only one. It is light enough that you can carry it by that handle. There is a rear port that can act as a handle too.VERIFIED BUYER
A:
It has 1 handle, which can make lifting onto a stand a bit difficult if you are alone, but they are rather light-weight so carrying them by one handle isn't difficult at all.Q:
I Own a pair of the Eon 515 JBL speakers looking for a step up with more horn throw I see these are more power would these do the trick I haven't heard them yet. Going to The AC DJ show next week to listen1 answer
A:
The PRX speakers have significantly more output wattage than the EON515, also the SPL level is greater as well. As long as weight is not an issue the PRX is a lounder box.
