The Best bass ever
Pros: Good Power Output,Easy Setup,Attractive Design,Great Sound Quality
Cons: Heavy / Bulky

I have 4 srx725's and 6 srx728s and there is nothing in the world that sounds better. However, the best balance is to have 2 subs for each top. If you are going to invest in a system, this is by far the best at a great price. The only drawback is that when JBL says 6400 watts peak, they really mean it. So unless you have an amplifier to deliver at least 3000 watts a sub, leave them alone. I strongly recommend the JBL SRX728S.
Best Subwoofer. Top of Class!
Pros: Great Sound Quality,Powerful,Attractive Design,Easy To Connect

I use this Subwoofer for Large events such as High School Formal Dances and Proms. The new differential Drive Subwoofers dramatically cut weight while at the same time increase overall output and extension. I use this every weekend and it has withstood the abuse I throw at it every time. The solid birch construction means you'll never be able to destroy the box.

I'd only say that the only con is if you aren't prepared to feed it the massive amount of power it craves (ie 1600watts RMS, 3200 Program 6400 Peak.) But if you have powerul amps and love deep chest-throbbing bass this is the only true choice!

Did what I wanted
Pros: Easy To Connect,Attractive Design,Great Sound Quality,Powerful
Cons: Heavy

I had a pair of MPro 418s subwoofers that were totally useless beyond 6 feet from the speakers. I needed good solid bass throughout an outdoor amphitheater. Two of these cabinets combined with a pair of bridged Crown XTi 4000 amps did the job perfectly. At 170 lbs, it takes two people to carry these around (the only drawback), but otherwise they produce a really good bottom end when crossed over at 80 Hz.
Hits Hard
Pros: Attractive Design,Easy Setup,Good Power Output,Great Sound Quality

I have owned many subwoofers from many different companies along with other subs from JBL. NONE have been able to hit like this sub and have crisp sounds for the lows. Would definetly only reccoment for people using it in LARGE venues.

what kind of pole speaker fits on the top of the subwoofer?
keru on Nov 13, 2012
BEST ANSWER: This subwoofer takes a standard mounting pole. As for the speaker that goes on top, almost every speaker has the same pole mount dimensions.
1. Is the price for a pair or for each box.
2. Whats the amp to match these speakers.
John on Nov 25, 2010
BEST ANSWER: The price is for each. The amp I recommend is the QCS RMX-5050 Item # 48566.
Can I use The JBL SRX728S with a bridged QSC 2450?
Geramix on Apr 1, 2010
BEST ANSWER: Yes you can
Exactly what does it mean when you description says you can "power subs from contacts ?1 or ?2." I currently have two JBL JRX 18" sub boxes and they have the same dual plugs on the back that have a 1 or 2 on them. I thought that my single 18"s are 4 ohm and if I connect two together it will place a 2 ohm load on my amp, which in mono operation would burn it out. Can someone please explain this to me in detail. I don't trust the person that hooked up my PA because it just doesn't sound "right " to me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

BEST ANSWER: Single Subwoofers can be either a 4ohm or 8ohm load depending on the manufacturer. This dual subwoofer runs at a 4ohm load per cabinet. The subs you have (JRX118S) are a single 18" subwoofer which in this case are a 4ohm box. You should run your subwoofer amp in Stereo mode so that your ohm load does not drop to 2ohms. The ideal amplifier for this would be the Crown XTI-2000. There are amplifiers that can handle 2ohms in bridged mono such as the iTech IT5000-HD. The switch on the back is for changing the cabling in specific applications where you would pass thru the amplification to a loud speaker top.
