So many uses it can be used for from interviews, meeting with client, capturing sound bites or speeches, recording instruments, rehearsal, and much more. With an 8 gig card able to record 34hrs @ 128 bits and files are stamped with an ID #.

At this time, there is no compact flash capacity restriction for use with the MicroTrack II. However, there is different formatting needed for CF above 512MB. There are also no known CF or MicroDrives that have known issues with this device. From M-Audio's website:
MicroTrack II records to CompactFlash or Microdrives. Capacity is based on the recording format selected and the size of the currently inserted media. For example, a 1GB CompactFlash card or Microdrive will hold approximately 100 minutes of uncompressed CD-quality 16-bit stereo 44.1kHz WAV files. That same 1GB media will store 1500 minutes of speech-quality stereo MP3 audio at 96kbps.
