Wanted to upgrade from Hercules MK4. From a look and feel perspective, this item was right on. But from the beginning I had problems. First, the software disc came cracked in half. M-Audio was great about letting me download latest version as replacement, but then that started jumping and scratching. Finally, one of the EQ knobs refused to sync with the software. Ultimately had to return.

I have been using the Xponent for over 3 years now and it has been great. It has been able to hold up to my continued growing experience and want for more features. I currently use it with a combination of other controllers and torq 2.0
I had a few issues with it being sensitive to power and freezing the software when it had any dips or small interruptions. I have never been able to have it plugged in on the same circuit as a fog machine without having issues. The most pleasing aspect of the controller has been the great support I have received from m-audio. when i was a year out of warranty they fixed it free of charge i only had to pay to ship it to them but i did not have to pay for any parts, labor, or the shipping back to me which was done in a prompt manner. I had broken several knobs, faders, and buttons (im rather hard on equipment) all of which were replaced and it is still working great. I even had the power cord get severed from being careless with it on my tour travels and had to strip it and electrical tape it back together 10 minutes before a gig and they happily and very quickly sent me a new power cord in time for my next show. Overall i have been very satisfied with this product.

As a professional DJ who does weddings, bars and all sorts of events, I find this to be a great unit for the price and even better considering that I got a free media case with purchase during the current promotion (ends Sept. 15th, 2011).I had a bit of trouble setting up the drivers, so I decided to backup and reformat my computer as it's been nearly 3 years and I had a LOT of other software on there that didn't need to be.I'm using Virtual DJ 7.0.5 (on a PC with Win7) with the xponent and it works flawlessly. I find the controls to be accurate and well designed. The rubber buttons with click feel is exactly what I was looking for in a controller. The touch sensitive platters are nice, but scratching isn't my thing.The sound from the Xponent is excellent and never cuts out. I ran this thing through several hours of torture and couldn't get it to skip, stutter or even come close to acting up.I think the only thing I'd change is to make the thing about an inch less wide so that it would fit nicely into my rack. While it does fit on top of the rack blanks I installed, it's not a very good fit.Still the best I've seen for [$].

This controlleris amazing if you use the software that comes with it its all mapped to it to work right out the box, software is TORQ its just amazing, the midi mapping super easy if you wanna change anything and the buttons on this controller are just the best, I love the feel they have, it has all you need to perform awesome sets the only stone in the way is your imagination, this is an excellent product owned it for the last 4 years wouldn't change it for anything. just get it and enjoy!

This thing blew me away!
First of all I can't tell you much about the supplied Torq program, I use this unit with Virtual DJ since I'm to lazy to try learning how Torq works. In my humble opinion Virtual DJ is the best Dj software out there, I don't care what you Serato fan boys say!

Now lets starts talking about the hardware.
I love the way this thing is laid out, whoever designed this thing put a lot of thought into it.
Every single button and knob is easy to see since they are illuminated, I feel confident that I am pushing all the right buttons in dark environments.

I love the big touch sensitive job wheels, I like how the jog wheels are placed on top of all the buttons and knobs, minimizing those accidental touches to the jog wheels when trying to push some other button.

I like the built in mouse pad, no more reaching for my laptops mouse pad.

I also love all the dedicated buttons, knobs and sliders for all of your basic Mixing functions, Cue points, effects, pitch bending, looping...etc
I don't have to push a shift button to access these functions like I may have to on other controllers who use the same buttons for multiple functions.

I only have 2 cons against this controller, the fist one being the material used for the case, I wish it was metal instead of plastic & 2nd I wish there was inputs on the sound card so I could use time coded vinyls and CDs like I can with a Hercules RMX, other than that I think this thing is perfect!

I would recommend it to everybody!

Ok guys I give this program 5 stars about 6 mos ago and I'm here to update that rating to 6 stars!!! This program is better then serato and half the price. I use it 4-5 nights a week in the club and sometimes weddings and it's the best. I tell everyone to buy it. Stable as he'll too never crashes. Buy it. I've been using xponent about a year,I enjoy mixing in my bedroom,this is good if you are a mix guy DJ,it can be so creative!
if you're more in scratching,choose VCI-300 or NS7,you may more satisfy with,about the price.xponent cost nicely with it's features.
the sound quality of the xponent is just OK,it's not better then the sound of CDJ with DJ mixer.
but everything is fine,if you have a good laptop or PC,and use it correctly.you will be happy on it!!
with this price,it's really good to have one good midi controller ;)

I have owned Conectiv for about two years now and just purchased the Xponent a month ago. It's a great piece of gear. Some complain about the case materials but it does the job well for a fraction of the cost of comparable products. You wouldn't expect to abuse your laptop and have it running well so take care of your gear and it will take care of you. Also, it interfaces flawlessly with Protools so if you are serious about producing music at the highest level then you should check out the M-Audio Gear.

I WAITED A FEW MONTHS BEFORE WRITING THIS. I WANTED TO REALLY SEE HOW STABLE THIS PROGRAM WAS. BUT IT'S REALLY NICE STUFF. BEFORE I PURCHASED IT. I RESEARCHED THE HELL OUT OF THIS THING, BECAUSE EVERYONE I KNEW WAS USING SERATO SL. AND FOR THE LONGEST TIME THAT'S WHAT I WAS SET ON GETTING. WELL, I DID MY HW ON THIS ONE, AND IT PAID OFF. I USE IT FOR WEDDINGS, BBQ'S, BARS, CLUBS, EVERYTHING AT LEAST 2-3 TIMES A WEEK. AND IT KILLS IT EVERY TIME I LOVE IT. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAD WAS IT FROOZE ONCE. BUT IT WAS THE COMPUTERS FAULT. I have been shopping around for a midi controller to control my current software OTSAV. This by far is an amazing controller. It allows me to have full controll over the computer and the software without having to use a mouse or even the keyboard. I just loaded the torq software & it is truly an amazing software with all the built in features the Quick Sratch function saves me alot of time so I no longer have to keep cueing up my scratches. The bulit in effects are great and the hands controll, is a wonderful change for Midi and Hardware Controllers. I have switched to using the Torq software it offers more flexability. Over all I would recomend this to anyone novice or profesional it is a great piece to have in your rig

I've had my unit replaced 4 times in the first 90 days. M-Audio has finally sent me a new not used or previously repaired unit. With that being said this unit is awesome. However if your into turntabalism you may want to consider using Virtual DJ because Torq's scratches aren't true vinyl scratches like VDJ. I am A mixtape DJ pursuing future endeavors.

To be honest, this has been my 3rd interface I've used since I started dj-ing. Its a great tool for parties and social events. Plus, it removes the hassle of having to carry packs of CDs or Vinyl. Its so small and compact, but still retains great sound quality. Good for mixing Trance and any other kind of Party music such as Hiphop or reggaeton. In short, this is my choice for djing.

I got the xponent up and running in about an hour. After getting use to it I was making the craziest mix I've ever done. This one is for keeps. I bought this because I had the troq package using my tech 1200's and was looking for something to take on the fly. M-audio... you did it again! This product has been out for a min but it won me over.

this thing does exsactly what it says it does. it's easy to use, controls are straight forward. i got it about 4 months ago, so i don't know about how "heavy duty" it is. it's taken some considerable drops though :( but it still plays perfectly :) sound card could use some adjustments. software is very user friendly. one thing though, you want the best out of it, so use it with a 'fast' computer.

Great device for mixing or playing live. With the ability to add so much sound effects this device is going to change the way DJ's play music to the crowds. With a built in sound card you don't even need a mixer!! Just plug straight into your amp and usb to your laptop and you control everything from scratching to beat mixing to loops.

I waited a long time for this product to hit stores, passing up other software controllers on the market, and I'm glad I did. The Xponent does exactly what it is advertised to do - it's easy to configure with Torq as well as other DJ software programs, and it is a cinch to start using right away. The unit is heavier and (hopefully) more durable that many of the other controllers out there. The buttons and knobs are large, backlit and feel sturdy. My only criticism regarding the surface controls is that the sliders and the crossfader could really use a bit of resistance - they slide too easily, making it easy to accidentally bump them during use.

When using the unit with Torq, you can control your computer files easily and mix from file to file as you would on a regular mixer. The EQ, gain and effects work perfectly with no real latency. The internal sound card sounds good - though not as good as some of the really high-end soundcards available - and does the job in a club setting. Using the sampler, hot cue points and the plug in effects really set this unit apart and help you go beyond mere beat match mixing into some truly professional sounding sets.

Using the Xponent in a club setting was simple - I just connected it to my laptop with the USB cable and ran the outputs from the Xponent into a line input of the club mixer. (The Xponent does not have XLR outputs, so it might be difficult to use it without running it into the club's hardware mixer.) I was able to mix all night without any glitches or hiccups and the sound was indistinguishable from CDs through the system.

All-in-all, I have been extremely pleased with the Xponent, it is the perfect piece of gear to control and mix digital files directly from your computer. I'm glad that I waited for its release.
