Q:
What is that box that it comes with? Is that the power phantom supply 48v or do i have to buy that extra? And also why does it only have a 3 month warranty for tube?Asked on 9/22/2010 by Anonymous1 answer

A:
This MXL mic comes with an external power supply that forgoes the need for phantom power from your board. Most quality tube mics will have this external power supply. MXL provides a 90-day warranty on their tubes due to the fact that these are very fragile components. Think of a tube like a lightbulb that may go out over time. This is true for any tube pre-amp or guitar amp on the market. You will have to replace these over time, but the trade-off is a great sounding mic.Answered on 9/24/2010 by Adrian from PSSL
