Mackie TH-18S Powered 18" Subwoofer
The Mackie TH-18s Powered Subwoofer delivers powerful, chest-thumping lows that instantly bring massive Thump to any Mackie PA system. Designed by the same team that produced the SRM450v2, the TH-18s has a ported bass reflex design that produces tight low end. And the lightweight, ultra-efficient Class-D Fast Recovery™ power amplifier delivers 1000W peak power with less risk of thermal overload. This makes the sub extremely lightweight and portable, without compromising the power and performance that you need. And the TH-18s does it all at a price that gives your budget a much needed night off.SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE THE ROOM
What does 1000W of peak power mean to you? It means having a subwoofer that delivers rump-shaking bass night after night. It means getting class-leading power and output. To accomplish this, the TH-18s features Class-D Fast Recovery™ amplification. Class-D amps are more efficient and lightweight, with far less waste heat produced versus competing designs. Fast Recovery™ means you can occasionally push into clipping without a ton of nasty distortion. So, power is no problem... but how does it sound? The TH-18s benefits from built-in Active electronics, like a precision crossover and tuning filters for accurate bass response. Some subwoofers have decent power, but when you listen, everything sounds loose and flabby. The TH-18s delivers professional low end that you can feel... custom tuned to be tight and punchy.SYSTEM FRIENDLY
Paired with a Mackie TH-15A, you have a complete (and completely affordable) “plug and play” system that is ideal for small clubs, DJs or rehearsal spaces. It’s also a great match for the popular Mackie SRMv2 Series and can easily integrate into nearly any existing PA setup you may have. The TH-18s has both full-range and high-pass stereo outputs for connection to full-range top boxes. Just dial in the appropriate level and use the polarity switch to make sure the sub is in phase with the top boxes. The integrated pole-cup can accommodate a standard mounting pole, so your favorite speaker has a nice place to sit. Or you can just stack your full-range box right on top... the TH-18s ain’t picky.VALUE LOADED
Hey, we know what it’s like to work hard for your money. That’s why the TH-18s gives you what you need without decimating your budget. If you are looking into getting a subwoofer, than you probably have the following criteria in mind: You need as much power as possible. Well, the TH-18s offers class-leading power in its price range. You need it to go low...body vibrating low. The TH-18s has a high-output 18" woofer that can be felt from across the room. It’s got to be easy to move and built to last. The TH-18s incorporates features that make it lighter and more portable than the competition. Plus, it’s made with rigid plywood (not fiberboard) to handle the rigors of the road. Lastly, it needs to come in at the right price. That’s where the TH-18s really shines. Comments about Mackie TH18S Powered 18" Powered Subwoofer-B-Sto *:
I bought this mackie subs thinking it would be a perfect choice for my small powered system gigs. The first two events it had ok bass but would power off after that. The third event it powered off and wouldn't turn back on again. [...] In my opinion, you get what you pay for. Spend a little more money and buy the QSC!

Is there something wrong with all mackie thump 18s? Because almost every website I go to has it discontinued. I really want to buy this but Im worried if I buy a Factory Reburbished(used) that there might be something wrong with it. Has anyone ordered one from here ? If so, how is it? I have two mackie thumps th-15s that I want to combine with a mackie subwoofer. Is there any difference between this one and the srm1801? I just want the TH-18s since i got the th-15 pairs. This is originally a Tapco design which Mackie purchased to make a more affordable sub. Mackie is one of my favorite brands but I dont consider this to be a Mackie sub even though it has the logo on the outside.Answered on 10/12/2010 by J.J. @ 8103 from PSSL
