Bi-directional communication with TRAKTOR via Native Instruments' high resolution protocol gives the hardware a smoother and more precise feel compared to regular MIDI controllers. Great product used in conjunction with Traktor Pro 2 and the Numark Mixeck Pro. Makes for a great set up with tons of uses. Everyone that sees it at gigs wants to try it. A must have for playing good effects.

This controller is great, it has many great features and fx that you can work with when tweaking your music and it comes with traktor LE to help you along the way. I use it with Traktor Pro 2 and its very easy to use for beginners. Great for looping as well. The items looks very well build and very durable. I would recommend this to everyone.

The Kontrol provides a nice interface for controlling Traktor's basic functions. However, those functions can also be controlled by keyboard commands. The real value is using it to control the sample decks. I bought my Kontrol as part of the Traktor Pro 2 upgrade special. I wouldn't pay [$] for it by itself. This is still a good piece of equipment though.

when using traktor it does everything you need. you are able to map it out to your own settings if you like. the buttons and knobs are very responsive, i mean lightning fast response. you can also use it while using other controllers. the one thing that it doesn't have is a jog wheel and pitch sliders but i was using it with denons mc6000 controller that does have a jog wheel and sliders. you can control the pitch and also have the use of + and -bends but my whole life i've used a slider to work the pitch. there is plenty of space between knobs and buttons so that you don't get confused. you are able to control deck a and b or c and d and your sample decks. overall just a great easy to use controller.

I think it's a solid controller for both Traktor Pro and Scratch Live, though, obviously better suited for Traktor. The price is nice at only [$] so it won't break the bank. The quality of the X1 is right up there with its cousin Maschine. It's solid yet lightweight and it Controls most of the needed functions in Traktor.

This is a MUST HAVE for any digital DJ running Traktor Pro or other software like Serato! Its designed to work fluidly with Traktor Pro and Pro 2, and can be used with or with out another controller. I personally use the Kontrol X1 as a dedicated effects control for Traktor Pro 2, while using a seperate midi controller for all other functions! This piece fits perfectly into any setup. Its size is perfect for any dj, lightweight and portable. Its durable, and doesnt feel flimsy like alot of midi controllers might. The backlit buttons make it easy to see off a glance what effect is on, or parameter is being controlled. Even in broad daylight outdoors, you can still see the buttons and know whats going on!
There is a slight curve to learning what the controls are mapped to in the software, but once installed(which is an absolute breeze!), its plug and play from there!
If you run Traktor or Serator, this MUST be in your gear bag!

Love it. it ties right in with Traktor Scratch Pro-2. buttons have a good feel and the rotary knobs have a decent click detent. only time will tell about use and button life otherwise its solid
