The transmitter's built in Auto Level Control operates even on the line-input, generating distracting noise (as heard on the receivers) for quiet sounds. Nady manual also warns about nearby hum level, but this is always heard regardless of distance from transmitter.
Receivers worked much better when used with another brand of transmitter
