What do you do if your hard drive dies or your software crashes? You break out the Mix 3 and some CD's and do it the old fashioned way! This is a great idea having a mixer and CD/MP-3 player all in one. Not pro-quality sound, but you're not usually playing for a bunch of sound engineers. Could use some more features like a XLR mic connection and maybe some sound effects.

A great unit because if you still use CD's, you have 2 CD/MP3 drives and a 3rd channel for your laptop or I-Pod. It's simple to use, extremely lightweight and sounds pretty darn good. Connect a pair of powered speakers to the XLR output jacks and you have a pro dj setup that can fit in the trunk of a Mini Cooper.

The Numark CD-Mix 3 Dual Mixer is excellent. I use it for professional dj events, such as wedding, sweet 16's, and school dances. I am impresses with the quality of this Numark product. My mixes have a high quality sound like a radio station mix show.

Picked 2 up for the business. Works great! Lightweight, portable and plays anything. My DJ's are fighting over it so they dont have to lug the big stuff around. Wish it had a better master EQ, but I can live with it.

Unless I was just getting started as a DJ, I would not make this my primary setup. However it's great as an emergency backup or to use outdoors. It's also great for weddings because its portable enough to do cocktail hour or a ceremony while your main equipment stays in the reception hall. It has all of the "basic" features a DJ needs EXCEPT an XLR mic input.

The club that I work at has purchased one of these as soon as I started DJing there and is hasn't messed up yet. It has good control and extra input for turntables, or extra RCA connection. I plug my ipod into it for more music support.
