DJ|iO is a compact, portable audio interface expressly designed for DJs, mobile music producers and other musicians who work with computers. You'll find DJ|iO to be a convenient missing link in your setup because it connects easily with a standard USB cable to the computer and supplies extremely high-quality, 24-bit audio to output systems. DJ|iO has stereo outputs for a main sound system, a secondary or monitoring system and headphones, as well as a microphone input with a hardware volume control. The audio interface comes with premium ASIO drivers, which enable you to easily optimize your system’s audio performance.
DJs and other performers employ DJ|iO in a wide variety of setups, most commonly involving music-mixing software and a hardware controller such as TOTAL CONTROL, STEALTH CONTROL, or MixMeister Control. Other performers including CD DJs and non-musician computer users can also appreciate DJ|iO’s convenience and portability.
You can use DJ|iO with Mac OS X, Windows XP, or Vista. Both 32 and 64-bit Windows are compatible. The USB device is bus-powered so no additional power supply is needed. Optionally, you can wall-power DJ|iO with a six-volt AC adapter, which is sold separately. DJ|iO delivers extremely low-latency audio performance for real-time playback accuracy at a choice of CD-quality 44.1kHz or premium 88.2kHz sample rates.
DJ|iO is compact and rugged enough to live in your gig bag. It has RCA stereo outputs and a headphone output so you can cue and output your main mix simultaneously. DJ|iO also has a 1/4" mic input so you can be the life of the party.

I have three different dj set ups. One with a 2 icdx controllers with a mixer, one with a dmc2 controller with a mixer, and one with just a numark total control which i use the mic input and headphone output. You can use this sound card in different configurations to whatever serves your need. I own three. The last one I purchased was a refurb. Great product, I run them all off of usb power even though you have the option of plug in power.

Comments about Numark DJIO Multi Channel USB Audio Interface:
Don't bother with the drivers on the included CD. These do not install well and are out-of date. Download the newest drivers at http://www.numark.com/djio?tt=5
Other than this, the only other major con you should be aware of: There is no hardware volume control for the headphone/cue control. If you are using an Ableton Live controller with a control for your cue volume, this isn't a problem.
IF you do need the ability to control your cue volume with a hardware knob, this is probably not the audio interface for you.
The audio quality seemed great on my laptop & desktop. Minimal hiss. I bought a refurbished unit & it's great.

Not sure why it has a Mic input when it's designed for an external mixer? The ASIO driver works great on 64 bit Windows 7 and 32bit XP. I've been using it for 2 years. Light enough to mount it inside the side of a rack with a little Velcro.

Comments about Numark DJIO Multi Channel USB Audio Interface:
I had picked up this unit to interface with my Numark DMC2 and allow me to plug into my mixer without having to use y-splitters like I had to use with another interface I have. It has performed for me very well. If you plan to plug your laptop into a mixer, this is a good unit to use.

Great idea when it works. Beware of Vista 64 bit systems. Does not work well with it. Call PSSL they won't help you out and Numark customer assistance won't help either. Beware

you do not have any more of this item new, according to your website. You only have one left, and it's reconditioned. My question is-- Does the reconditioned unit come with the same software as a new unit?
