NDX400 is an advanced scratch MP3/CD player that can also play from a USB flash drive for cutting-edge performance. Numark’s Anti-Shock™ buffered skip-protection technology keeps music playing, even when vibrations might cause other players to skip. Three hot cues and large scratch wheel empower your creativity.
NDX400 is a flexible, slot-loading player that not only plays standard CDs, but it can also play MP3 CDs for lengthy playback from a single disc. Additionally, the unit can play from a USB flash drive for even more music-format flexibility. For easily navigating through folders on MP3 CDs and USB flash drives, NDX400 has an easy-to-read text display.
NDX400 has advanced braking for vinyl-style stopping of playback, and a reverse mode that enables you to incorporate even more special vinyl effects. The player also offers three hot cue points for quick access to key points in the track.
NDX400 features seamless looping for creating and integrating loops in instant remixes. Single, continuous, and programmable playback modes enable you to control playback order and create custom playlists. NDX400 also has fader start, which starts NDX400 playing when you move the crossfader on a compatible mixer.
NDX400 is a powerful, rock-solid player for a variety of music formats. Professional DJs and weekend warriors alike will appreciate NDX400’s great mix of features and capabilities for a surprisingly affordable price.

Comments about Numark NDX400 Table Top MP3/CD Player with USB:
I needed something small and affordable just to mess around on and just practice my mixing. I don't have space in my condo for my 1200's (which are at my friend's house).
I purchased a pair of these and that tiny Gemini mixer. I set up the SL1 that I keep at home, put the SratchLive Control CD's in each deck and away I went. No hitches at all using ScratchLive. The outer ring reacts perfectly when nudging it, as you would the platter on your turntable. The pressure sensitivity on the inner ring for scratching is very responsive. I never use the Play/Pause button to start the song when throwing it in live into a mix; instead I use the center ring and go back and fourth on the first beat as you would a turntable. That was a biggie for me!
Use at a real party:
A friend called and asked if I could play some music for New Years. His parties can get wild and rowdy, so I decided to take my NDX400's, as I didn't want to damage my main set up. It's a lot easier to replace $500 worth of equipment vs 2K. I started playing some older Hip-Hop, Funk, and Old School around 7 pm. Around 9:30-10 I started playing House (of all forms), Electro, and all of the newer Hip-Hop. Needless to say, when the crowd heard instructional music like "Drop it low girl", "Bend over to the floor, touch...", etc. My table got bumped several times and hard (Odyssey L-Stand and tray held my Laptop safe and sound). So, at 6 am when we called it quits, my NDX400's, used with ScratchLive never failed, skipped or jumped.

Comments about Numark NDX400 Table Top MP3/CD Player with USB:
I use this product with my old Stanton vinyl tables and an old Behringer mixer. I really like the overall design. The unit feels solid and works perfectly. All of the features are very impressive for the price. The only thing that I do not like about them so far is that it does not seem to read mp3 metadata. It just shows the filename of the track. Other than that everything is great!

Q:
in rder to use the flash drive does it have to be in mp3 format or regular audio
+Asked on 11/25/2011 by sherm from petersburg,va1 answer
A:
I believe that in order to play music through a flash drive with this unit the songs have to be in MP3 format. You can easily find software programs online for both Mac and PC that will convert any music file type to the compatible MP3 format. If you have any more questions feel free to call. 800 945 9300.Answered on 12/6/2011 by Garrett from Cypress, CA

Q:
does ndx 400 have software controlerAsked on 7/29/2011 by dj super from trinidad and tobago1 answer
A:
The NDX400 is not MIDI enabled, but you can use them with Timecode CD's. For this, you will need a 4in-4out sound card (such as the Maya 44), Timecode CD's (Virtual DJ offer Timecode downloads that you can burn to your own CDR's), then set up Virtual DJ for use with Timecode. The better option would be to go with the NDX800 or the Denon DNS-1200.Answered on 8/1/2011 by David from PSSL
