It comes with everything you need to start ripping albums in a matter of minutes. Software is basic but very simple to use. I am Mac person and it dropped the songs right into i-tunes.

This is a very specialized piece of gear. I use it for vinyl ripping. Great sound. Very low mass plastic base and must be set on a sturdy table to reduce rumble.
The ripping software is basic and not as advertised.
Great buy for ripping.

I just received this turnable yesterday, got it home, took it out of the box, set it up (cakewalk to set up), and I was up and running in 10 minutes. The software is super easy to use and cleans up the song fairly well. If you are not content with the easy vinyl comversion software, the disk comes with a more advanced version to edit your songs, even add effects. Great little program. Very happy with the purchase. One draw back, the included needle is not the highest quality, so If you have your own, you might want to use it. I have some Ortofon needles, from my 1200s and got better sound quality. I would definetly recommend to a friend.

Works great. Comes with everything you need including cartridge and headshell. Software is pretty straightforward. Not as nice as using a full out professional studio, but for quick and easy recording of vinyl to mp3 or wav, this is definitely the way to go. Saves so much space. I was up and recording in less than an hour. Well worth the money.

The [...] rep could not verify whether this item came with cartridge and headshell. Let me do so now: THIS PRODUCT COMES WITH A CARTRIDGE AND HEADSHELL. Set-up is a simple plug-and-play. The software (the freeware program Audacity) is mostly intuitive. Items that aren't intuitive are quickly answered by the product manual. One negative - for whatever reason, there are times the computer now tries to make the turntable the default "sound card." This requires a quick setting change in Control Panel. It's a cinch if you know what you're doing and a maddening hassle if you don't. Also, the noise removal function ("effect") is not that simple to use and can cause a loss of the audio you *do* want if you turn the "effect" too high. You also have to address pops and crackles individually. Overall, I started recording/archiving music within 20 minutes of opening the box.
