I was going to use this product instead of powerpoint. But, DVD menu options are seen on the projected image. It's on the little bulit in screen, which is fine. Having it up on the projected screen makes it look unprofessional. Would have been smart of Numark to have a button that could turn off the onscreen menu.

LCD Screen being the beest feature on the unit is cool, and takes away from using an external monitor set. Like most of the reviews the buttons and respons of the buttons is bad, very slow unit for searching out track on a dvd. The playing time is really bad and learning to time the thing right is almost impossible considering it never takes the same amount of time to start playing (around 5 to 10 seconds) which can sometimes and most oftne creat dead air which in the type DJ/VJing I do is bad. Over all the idea was a good one but the player its self lacks. If your looking to spend the amount of money for this unit go ahead and get Total Computer DJ in a Box for the same price and be able to control not only your videos but you mp3 and karaoke files from one software program and one controller.

PROs: It has a built-in LCD screen which makes things easier without having to use a separate preview monitor. You can also navigate menus with buttons on the unit, instead of having to use a remote as with most consumer players. Also seems to play many recordable video formats, including VCDs. Pitch control.CONs: Incredibly unresponsive, it literally takes about 5-10 seconds to start playing a track! Obviously, this renders the whole thing useless, since you never know when it will finally decide to start playing something. Cheap $[...]0 DVD players don't have this problem so we went back to using those. It's really a shame, because it has so many features but that one problem ruins it all. And skipping through tracks is a nightmare...if you're trying to play track 50 on a DVD, it will take you at least 5 minutes to get to it. The buttons are hard to press too; combined with the fact that the DVD player takes several seconds to do anything after you hit a button, it's hard to tell if you've actually pressed the buttons far enough.I've used more than one unit, and they're both like this. I can't imagine who could possibly get any use out of this.
