Comments about Numark X9 24 Bit 3 Channel 10 Inch DJ Mixer:
I've had this mixer for 3 years now, the only thing that didnt work was the LED panel for the effects, but I since replaced it. Other than that, it works pretty well. I use it for parties and smaller gigs. Its also good for my karaoke gigs because you get 2 mic inputs w/ 2 free channels to mix with instead of sacrificing one channel/mic. Thats the great thing about having a 3 channel mixer. The 24 bit effects are pretty ghetto and entry level although its licensed by Alesis. The tape echo is the warmest most natural effect on the panel.
The rear panel has loads of inputs you'd probably never use but its good to have your options open. For a rather inexpensive mixer, its relatively quiet as well. I like the size and build quality, its probably the most versatile 3 channel mixer out there for under $400. I highly recommend it.

Comments about Numark X9 24 Bit 3 Channel 10 Inch DJ Mixer:
I use this as a mobile dj unit. I do weddings, clubs and street events all year. Right out of the box, the effects light didn't work. I took the top face off and wiggled the wire and the LED turned on. OK that was a joke, but afterward it works like a charm. No problems whatsoever. Make sure to store it in a roadcase because I would NOT trust it if it gets bumped around. The sound quality is good, not as warm sounding as a Rane, Pioneer or Denon. The effects are Ok, kind of subpar but for the money what do you want. I still use this unit after 3 years and it hasn't broke yet. Dollar-wise it is very good.

Comments about Numark X9 24 Bit 3 Channel 10 Inch DJ Mixer:
Works well for DJ / Karaoke set up. If you are using serato it leaves one channel open for using Karaoke set up. Absolutely hate the AC cord on this unit. Everytime you have to plug and unplug eventually this flimsy AC cord has to be replaced. Why can't the company have a standard plub in adapter that works well and is easy to plug in and out. Seems like a simple idea to me

Comments about Numark X9 24 Bit 3 Channel 10 Inch DJ Mixer:
I was looking for a backup 3-channel mixer that also had effects so that I wouldn't always have to bring my Pioneer DJM800 to my gigs. This Numark X9 fit the bill perfectly. The X9 is the refined version of the DXM09, but Numark changed the color, effects panel and put rubber knobs instead of plastic. Works great for my needs, I especially like the Tape Echo effect.
Two flaws I see with this mixer is the location of the MIC inputs which are on the front by the headphone jack and also on Line 2. I would've preferred it if they were on the back panel and on Line 1. Second flaw is that the Master Volume LEDs will remain lit up even if the channel up-faders is at zero (and if the Trim has gain) which is kind of annoying. However, these flaws do not outweigh the positives about the mixer.
I'd give this mixer a 8 out of 10; or 4 stars out of 5.

How would I best connect this to a Presonus Firewire Mobile interface (i.e. - what cables, how many)? Thanks!1 answer

The easiest way would probably be out of the "record out" on the mixer with RCA - 1/4inch cables into the Presonus' left and right inputs.Q:
Can I run some monitors through the RCA master while also running full range speakers through the Balanced outputs?1 answer
A:
The Numark X9 24 Bit 3 Channel 10" Mixer has (RCA), Record so you can connect your monitors while you run full range speakers out of the master outputs.
