I was a little hesitant to spend this much on this case, but wound up happy with the product. I thought I would have to drill holes in the sides in order to run my cables through, but I found out where the Odessey labels are, you can remove a screw, flip up the metal plate, and pull your cables through. Also with a flip of a bracket I can slide the top plate off so I can get access to the full top portion of the case. With the carpeted top on the slide tray I also found that I could just slap some velcro (which they provided a strip) on the bottom of my external hard drive, and now I don't need to worry about that disappearing into my case anymore.
As an added bonus I found I can fit my Gemini power scrubber in the last spot on the top rack and still plug power cords into the back of it. This allowed me to use the built in lights on the scrubber to shine down my board and now I don't have to worry about an external light source.
If you have doubts, get rid of them, this will work for what you want it for.

Sliding tray is too close to sound board. It won't slide over XLR & 1/4" cables. So you can't bring Lap Top to it's full forward position.
