Comments about Odyssey FZ1214WDLX 12Sp X 14Sp Combo Rack W/Tabl *:
The item was very well shipped and protected from the rigors of freight. It arrived in flawless condition.
The casters need to be installed and it was done quickly in about ten to fifteen minutes with a power drill. The casters are a fine match for the FZ1214. They feel very smooth and very capable of taking any weight placed inside and then some.
It only took me about 20 to 30 minutes to load all my amps, power conditioner and light consoles onto the FZ1214. I can tell you that the shear improvement in efficiency, transportation and time gained by never again having to re-wire all the sound before (and after) every gig makes the FZ1214 worth every penny. After taking my time to organize the wiring at rear (which was a true joy) knowing I can close the unit with all amps fully installed thanks to the cavernous interior of the FZ1214. I even had room to place a fan for extra cooling to the amps. Again, space was no problem at all.
The tables are a tad difficult to latch onto the FZ1214 because the butterfly interferes as it is too close to the table itself (see last paragraph).
The only negative: the tables in the pic ARE NOT of the FZ1214. That is why the top is not shown in the pic. They are only 28" in length. The pic makes it appear about 35". My 35" Odessey case that houses my turntables and mixer can BARELY squeeze the rubber feet onto the table. If you own a larger case (a good chance that you do) then, this may be a game changer as you must take a separate table (which kills the utility of the panels), or you must take your equipment out of the case and arrange them on the 28" table. This would add to your assembly time instead of shorten it.
If the top were shortened to allow the front and back panels to reach all the way to the top, then they would be the tables you see in the pic (about 35"). A simple design change can accomplish that (make sure to offer it to current FZ1214 owners). Otherwise, this unit is wonderful and will immensely improve logistics.
